So misleading
The defection of the soul
Nauseously quick
I don't question
Our existence
I just question
Our modern needs
I will walk, with my hands bound
I will walk, with my face blood
I will walk, with my shadow flag
Into your garden
Garden of stone
After all is done
And we're still alone
I won't be taken
Yet I'll go
With my hands bound
I will walk, with my face blood
I will walk, with my shadow flag
Into your garden
Garden of stone
I don't show
I don't share
I don't need
What you have to give, yeah
I will walk, with my hands bound
I will walk, with my face blood
I will walk, with my shadow flag
Into your garden
Garden of
I will walk, with my hands bound
I will walk, into your garden
Garden of stone
I don't know
I don't care
I don't need you for me to live
The song is titled "Garden" by Pearl Jam, and it is a powerful expression of disillusionment with modern society. The lyrics of the song are metaphorical and poetic, with a strong emphasis on the themes of existence, isolation, and self-discovery. The song begins with the singer questioning the misleading direction of the eye and the nauseating defection of the soul, emphasizing the need to question modern needs rather than existence. The next lines express a sense of determination, as the singer declares that he will walk with his hands bound, face bloodied, and shadow flag raised, alluding to a willingness to face adversity and oppression rather than remaining complacent.
As the song progresses, the lyrics become more introspective, with the singer declaring that he does not show, share, or need what society has to offer. Despite this, he still plans to enter the garden of stone, echoing the paradoxical nature of existence and the need to confront one's emotions and fears. The song then concludes with the repetition of the singer's declaration to walk into the garden with his hands bound, face bloodied, and shadow flag raised, leaving the listener with a sense of defiance and determination.
Overall, "Garden" is a deeply introspective and thought-provoking song that invites the listener to question the values and priorities of modern society. It uses powerful metaphors and poetic language to express a sense of isolation, determination, and defiance, making it one of Pearl Jam's most renowned and impactful songs.

@geekrockrats
I thought the same thing, right before the verse starts was a huge moment in that it determined the course of their future. I wonder if Eddie knew how important that vocal track would become. The Eddie that sang those songs was living his last few months of anonymity before becoming the star he is
@The212b
