Confesiones de Invierno
Pedro Aznar Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Me echó de su cuarto gritándome:
"No tienes profesión"

Conseguí licor y me emborraché

Y no quiero salir.
Ya no paso frío y soy feliz
Mi cuarto da al jardín.

Y aunque a veces me acuerdo de ella
Dibujé su cara en la pared

Solamente muero los domingos
Y los lunes ya me siento bien...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Pedro Aznar's Confesiones de Invierno tell the story of a person who is struggling to make ends meet in the wintertime. The first verse describes the singer being kicked out of a room for not having a profession and having to face the reality of his condition. He struggles to improve his situation and feels the weight of hunger and cold. He wonders who will give him something to smoke or a home to live in while recognizing that he may have to survive on the streets.

The second verse continues to describe the difficulty of the singer's situation, as the radio confuses him, and he wonders how he will survive without money. He muses about the possibility of being eaten by wolves and the futility of trying to steal from them. The singer begins to question whether God will give him the credit he needs just because he can smile. The third verse describes the singer's desperation as he contemplates his future.

The fourth verse tells of the singer's descent into alcohol, which results in him being arrested and spending time in jail. He has been in jail for four years, and while he does not want to leave, he still remembers the person who kicked him out at the beginning of the song. Despite this, he has found some happiness in his room, which faces a garden, and his only real struggle is dying on Sundays.

Overall, Confesiones de Invierno tells a powerful story about struggling against difficult circumstances during a cold winter. It highlights themes of poverty, desperation, and the struggle for survival while ultimately offering a glimpse of hope and resilience.
