The Peech Boys, also known as the New York Citi Peech Boys or NYC Peech Boy… Read Full Bio ↴The Peech Boys, also known as the New York Citi Peech Boys or NYC Peech Boys, was a band that comprised Bernard Fowler, Steven Brown, Robert Kasper, Darryl Short and Michael de Benedictus. The group formed at the Paradise Garage, being influenced by Larry Levan. They only released 4 12" discs with On a Journey peaking at 56 in the 1983 R & B Billboard chart. However, they are most known for their 1981 song Don't Make Me Wait which was one of the early hits in the New York house/garage scene, due to Larry Levan's playing of it at the Paradise Garage. They were signed to the West End Label, but in 1983 they split up.

Sometimes I don't think people don't understand the importance of the Larry Levan era. The members of the Garage, heard bits and pieces of this song. Larry would play different parts, threw countless night at the Garage. We waited while Larry worked on this song. My girlfriend worked downtown around Worth street. I asked her to please be at Vinyl Mania when this record was released. Thousands were sold ! The legend of Larry Levan was solodified . Larry remixed some of the best club or house music of that time. I was truly happy to have experience Paradise.

I didn't start DJing until 1997, but, I have always studied the history of House music. I play a lot of 80s and 90s House, (mixed in with Classics up until 2005) and, my listeners have never heard any of it. It always goes over surprisingly well!!! Classics never die. It was the convergence of yhe right time, the right place, tge right sociopolitical climate, the right economy and take a look at the story line that produced those DJs then. It was nit a mistake that other locations were jamming just as hard. And they all knew each other. Then spread out, like Jesus and the disciples.
