Their music is characterised by Barrett's virtuoso guitar playing and his highly emotional, if unique, vocal performances.
On October 1st 2008 the band released the album Pure. This album features their heaviest songs as of yet, being influenced by the newer Porcupine Tree.
The band continues to be active.

When asked about what he wants people to get out of his music Drag says, I want people to know that everything that you go through, someone else is going through that too. If I can comfort someone with what I say, and they can apply that to themselves and make them realize that life is real and everybody, no matter their position, had to overcome something, whether great or small. I want to give a voice to those that are not getting heard. And let them know that it is alright to feel all emotions of life, because everyone does, and its real.

Passion
Pendragon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Existing just to juggle balls and dropping spinning plates
Passion burns up empathy and lets your ego rule
But somewhere deep inside a seed of doubt is pushing through
At night when all the world’s asleep a voice inside me calls and I…
Drop my balls
Maybe I should say something stand out and be strong
And if you try to justify they’ll throw you in the cellar with the others
Common sense and heroes are so laughably absent
Passion? Give me some empathy
Passion? Give me some empathy
I cannot recollect a single word you said
When people drown in ponds and drains
A bag over the head
And if you try to justify they’ll throw you in the cellar with the others
Common sense and heroes just a quaint reminder
Passion? Give me some empathy
Passion? Give me some empathy
No no not here not now
No no not here not now
I said who do you think you are?
I said who do you think you are?
I watched your crawl across the floor
Towards this ancient temple door
A tragedy most can’t resist
Your strange intoxication
The lyrics of Pendragon's "Passion" describe the thoughts and emotions of an individual who is struggling with the idea of passion and the effects it has. The character describes a setting of "coloured corridors" with "circles and strange shapes." This may signify that the character is caught up in a world of performance, where they are constantly juggling balls and dropping spinning plates. The character expresses that passion can burn up empathy and let ego take over, but still, they feel a seed of doubt pushing through.
The character also speaks of a voice calling them at night when the world is asleep, suggesting that they are haunted by their thoughts and the decisions they have made. The character expresses a raging doubt that something is wrong, and they are conflicted about whether they should speak up or stay silent. They fear that if they try to justify their thoughts, they will be thrown into the cellar with the others who have been silenced. The character feels a lack of common sense and heroes and reflects on the absence of empathy in passion. In the end, the character refuses to be a part of this world and vows to resist the strange intoxication it offers.
Overall, the lyrics depict an individual who is struggling to find their voice and identity in a world that values passion over empathy, common sense, and heroes. The character experiences an internal conflict between their doubts and desires, and they ultimately choose to stand their ground and resist the pressure of this world.
