1. Pendragon is an English progressive rock band established in 1978 in Stroud, Gloucestershire as "Zeus Pendragon" by guitarist Nick Barrett. The "Zeus" was dropped before the band started recording.
There were a few personnel changes in the early days, but since 1986 the lineup has remained relatively stable. Long standing drummer Fudge Smith being replaced by Joe Crabtree who has subsequently been replaced by Scott Higham who brings high energy along with a huge beaming smile!
Their music is characterised by Barrett's virtuoso guitar playing and his highly emotional, if unique, vocal performances.
On October 1st 2008 the band released the album Pure. This album features their heaviest songs as of yet, being influenced by the newer Porcupine Tree.
The band continues to be active.

A greater following has been gained from the listeners of 88.9 Strictly Hip-Hop, Morgan States Friday night dose of Underground Hip-Hop. PenDragon is a forerunner as one of Baltimores greats. PenDragon produces and writes not only rap but also R&B. Also writing TV shows, movies, and books are steadily draining the ink out of Drags pe ns. When asked about what he wants people to get out of his music Drag says, I want people to know that everything that you go through, someone else is going through that too. If I can comfort someone with what I say, and they can apply that to themselves and make them realize that life is real and everybody, no matter their position, had to overcome something, whether great or small. I want to give a voice to those that are not getting heard. And let them know that it is alright to feel all emotions of life, because everyone does, and its real.

Pendragon Lyrics

As far west as man can go before he starts heading east
San Francisco, but where from there?
Out on the ocean where the dreamers go
Where the moonlight dolphins play
'Cause I know where my spirit's free
I know where my destiny takes me
I know where my spirit's free
Into the arms of a new world
Into the heart of a new world dream, and free
And Thursday's child has got a long, long way to go
And Thursday's child has got a long, long way to go
And Thursday's child has got a long, long way to go
For those who seek shall be those who find
To push back the boundaries forever for mankind
The boy who made his mark in the world today
So spread your wings and fly away
Copper green Victorian looking out to sea
The first footsteps in India is where my ship takes me
I'm a wandering stranger just trying to find some answers for me
I know where my spirit's free
Into the heart of America
Into the arms of a new world
Into the heart of a new world dream, and free
I put my hand to my head and I look to the sea and think
Thursday's child has got a long long way to go
The lyrics to Pendragon's song "Voyager" speak to the idea of adventure and the quest for freedom. The journey is described as a "long winding road" that could lead in any direction. The singer references San Francisco as a possible destination, but is ultimately seeking something beyond that - "out on the ocean where the dreamers go." The sense of freedom and possibility is heightened by the mention of moonlight dolphins playing in the water.
The chorus repeats the idea that "Thursday's child" (often associated with traits like optimism and risk-taking) has a long journey ahead. But the song also suggests that those who keep searching will eventually find what they're looking for - "for those who seek shall be those who find." The final verse describes the singer as a "wandering stranger" in search of answers, but confident in the knowledge that their spirit is free.
