Go-a your funeral and all drink out your liquor
When you are bury we a-stand next to vicar
Fling on some dirt and make your bury a little quicker
Shouldn't test the youth them in the Tommy Hilfiger

The Program by Pendulum featuring Spyda is an energetic and action-packed track that holds the elements of drum and bass and electronic dance. The lyrics of ‘The Program’ are mostly inspired by the Jamaican slang and culture. The song is delivered from the persona of Spyda, a Jamaican dancehall singer responsible for punching the lyrical threats, with his accented vocals which add value to the song.
The lyrics to The Program allude to a violent, gangster lifestyle. The lyrics speak of being ruthless if someone tests you or crosses you. The persona of Spyda boasts of killing people and showing no remorse, and even drinking out of their liquor. The lyrics also suggest having no fear of death as the persona would be standing next to the vicar when the person is being buried. The persona is seen apologetic towards the family members of the deceased only to get close to the deceased's little sister. The chorus then highlights that Spyda has a unique style and slogan, which helps in differentiating himself from others.
Overall, the lyrics of ‘The Program’ represent a powerful image of a violent subculture, the likes of which seem far removed in western society, but is present in some parts of the world. The track boasts pure drum and bass, and a powerful bassline, with Spyda showcasing his talent and energy.
