Tsukare kitta tabibito no ikoi no oashisu wa
Minami no kuni no kokage ka rain gawa no kishibe ka

Yubae ga someteiru nageki no mori wo

Sumire no hana ni atatakana ai no chikara wo kanjita
Tsumetaku natte nemuru tabibito wo yasashiku tsutsunda
Nageki no mori ni memuri wo yudaneru to
Doko kara ka kikoeru mishiranu hito no koe

Kuuki de tsukurareta jiyuu na karada no
Yousei ya seirei ga oshiete kureta

Sumire no hana ni atatakana ai no chikara wo kanjita
Tsumetaku natte nemuru tabibito wo yasashiku tsutsunda

Yubae ga someteiru nageki no mori de
Yatto mitsuketanda saigo no nemuri wo

Nani kara hanasou...

Sumire no hana ni natsukashii ai no chikara wo kanjita

Anata ga tashika ni sono hana datta aete yokatta
Aete yokatta

Overall Meaning

These lyrics are from the song Violet by the Japanese rock band PENICILLIN. The song is about finding love and solace in a beautiful and serene environment after a long and tiring journey. The first verse mentions a tired traveler finding respite in an oasis, either under the shade of a southern country or by the riverbank. The second verse talks about the traveler's experience in a forest filled with sorrow, overcome by the purple hue of the setting sun. The traveler feels the warmth of love within the violet flowers and tenderly embraces a sleeping traveler who has become cold.

The following verse mentions the traveler's experience of hearing an unknown voice in the sorrowful forest, and how the fairies and spirits taught them about the freedom and harmony of life through the air. The song repeats its chorus twice, where the traveler feels the power of warmth in the purple-colored flowers and, through a gentle embrace, comforts a cold traveller. The song ends with the affirmation that the traveler found their “Violet,” or their love in this beautiful and idyllic setting.
