Pennywise's current line-up consists of Jim Lindberg (vocals), Fletcher Dragge (guitars), Randy Bradbury (bass) and Byron McMackin (drums). They had kept their original line-up together until bassist Jason Thirsk died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in 1996, due to issues with his alcoholism, after which Bradbury joined as his replacement. In August 2009, Lindberg decided to leave the band; he was replaced in February 2010 by Ignite singer Zoli Téglás. With Téglás, the band recorded their tenth studio album All or Nothing, which was released on May 1, 2012. Lindberg rejoined the band later that year after Téglás was sidelined by a back injury.

From me then give it all away
You can't control yourself
For anyone
Don't think that you could ever see
That things are not the same
You can't control yourself
For anything
Give me one reason to stop your fall (Yeah yeah yeah)
Give me one reason to Answer Your call (Yeah yeah yeah)
Give me one reason why I should care at all
Don't think you could understand
But logic rips away
The mask that you put on
For everyone
You feel it slipping from your hands
Still you manipulate
You can't control yourself
For Anything
Give me one reason to stop your fall (Yeah yeah yeah)
Give me one reason to Answer Your call (Yeah yeah yeah)
Give me one reason why I should care at all
Let someone look inside at what's
Behind the mask where you hide
A mixture of pain and pride the real
You that's been Denied
Won't you give me one reason? [Repeat: x 3]
Give me one reason to stop your fall (Yeah yeah yeah)
Give me one reason to Answer Your call (Yeah yeah yeah)
Give me one reason why I should care at all
The song "One Reason" by Pennywise is about someone who can't seem to control themselves, and who takes the best things away from the singer and then gives them away to someone else. The singer is asking for one reason to care about this person who seems to be losing their grip on reality. The lyrics suggest that this person wears a mask for everyone else and manipulates situations but can't control themselves. The lyrics also suggest that the person is experiencing a mixture of pain and pride which they are hiding behind their mask.
The chorus, "Give me one reason to stop your fall, give me one reason to answer your call, give me one reason why I should care at all" is a plea from the singer to this person to give them a reason to care about them and to stop them from falling. The lyrics suggest that the person is slipping from their grasp and the singer is worried that they will be lost to them forever.
Overall, the song is a warning to those who manipulate and take others for granted, and a plea to those who are struggling with their inner demons to seek help and not give up on those who care about them.
