Pennywise's current line-up consists of Jim Lindberg (vocals), Fletcher Dragge (guitars), Randy Bradbury (bass) and Byron McMackin (drums). They had kept their original line-up together until bassist Jason Thirsk died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in 1996, due to issues with his alcoholism, after which Bradbury joined as his replacement. In August 2009, Lindberg decided to leave the band; he was replaced in February 2010 by Ignite singer Zoli Téglás. With Téglás, the band recorded their tenth studio album All or Nothing, which was released on May 1, 2012. Lindberg rejoined the band later that year after Téglás was sidelined by a back injury.

I hope you register this little message
It's the only way you can stay outta hell
Don't ask your parents they ain't gonna tell you
'Cause they've already taken the fall
Thank your lucky stars for the enlightenment
'Cause now it ain't no secret at all
We're gonna die off in time
Until we stop succumbing to mankind,
Don't get me wrong
I don't want to soil your future
It used to be so squeaky clean
It ain't my fetish to extend this pessimism or blow rain clouds over your scene
I got the notion
I got the feeling that this thing doesn't have to end
This better up your suspicion
If not there's only one result my friend
Hey mom and dad please don't hate me
Just 'cause in me you see your lost youth
Did I evolve into an adult organism?
Do I blow myself away?
Tell me the truth
Good intentions yeah I got 'em
Plan for the future or pray for the end
This had better raise up your suspicion
If not there's only one result my friend
The song "The Secret" by Pennywise is an insightful take on the state of the world and how individuals can take control of their own destiny. The reference to a "secret" that "they" don't want you to know is a nod to the powers that be who maintain the status quo and prevent people from understanding the truth about their world. The message of the song is that individuals have the power to take control of their own destinies by seeking knowledge and enlightenment, rather than relying on those in power.
The song warns that the world as we know it is headed toward destruction if we don't change our ways. The line "We're gonna die off in time" is a stark reminder of our mortality and the fact that our time on this earth is limited. The song encourages listeners to resist the pressures of society and to think for themselves in order to achieve a better future.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of intergenerational conflict, with the singer asking his parents not to hate him for who he has become. This can be interpreted as a critique of the older generation for not doing enough to address the problems facing the world today.
Overall, "The Secret" is a call to action for individuals to take control of their own lives and to work together to create a better future for all.
