Anybody realize that the lyrics to this song explain the entire movie?
The entire 1st verse = Effie's problems with Curtis, how he put her in the background, cheated on her, broke her heart
"Move Right Out Of My Life" = everyone's feelings towards Curtis in the end because he was so controlling
"The way you lead me around" = Curtis controlled everyone here and told all of them that they have to do anything he says
"...Titanic ...Going Down" = Effie's career basically went down like the titanic after he kicked her out the group
"Stepping On My Style" = Curtis basically forced Jimmy to change his style to appeal to white people and the pop charts and took away all his soul
"I wanna breathe for a while" = Curtis was basically down Deena's throat about the music she made and the movie she was in and she wanted to do something on her own (the other movie)
I could be reaching but it does seem kind of weird they'd sing a song about a manipulative controlling guy in the beginning of a movie about one
