Reprise
Periphery Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The screams will echo on a quiet night
Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
Death has come
A sacrifice in this duality
Our blessings given as the children moan
A man is burdened with a life full of evil
Hungry eyes
They will not live to see another day

All in the feeling of a soul within
Set it free in bloody ecstasy

Lie in the circle of a few who stain
(our bodies with their own blood)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Periphery's song 'Reprise' can be interpreted in various ways. The opening lines, 'The screams will echo on a quiet night, Silver faces, an unholy cathedral, Death has come,' can be seen as a representation of a sacrifice or ritual in progress, which is being conducted in a cathedral or chapel. The following line, 'Our blessings given as the children moan,' can be seen as an indicator that the sacrifice is being made to some deity or higher power, and that the children involved are being given as offerings.

A possible thematic interpretation of the song can be seen as a representation of the dichotomy between good and evil. 'A man is burdened with a life full of evil, Hungry eyes, They will not live to see another day,' is a line that can be interpreted as good overcoming evil. The words 'Hungry eyes' could represent evil desires or intentions. They will not live to see another day; hence, their evil spirit or desires have been eradicated. The song's central thesis appears to be that in order to attain spiritual liberation or freedom, there must be some form of sacrifice.

OFFICIAL LYRICS:

Their screams will echo on a quiet night
Silver faces an unholy cathedral
Death has come
A sacrifice in this duality
A blessing is given as the children moan
A man is burdened with a life full of evil
Hungry eyes
They will not live to see another day
I'll end the feeling of a soul within, set it free in bloody ecstasy
Lie in the circle of a few who stain their bodies with their own blood

My Take on What Juggernaut Omega is About:
1. Reprise- Repeated Passage of what has happened. A remembrance.
2. The Bad Thing- Flashback of a dream on how to kill his leaders.
3.The Priestess-Now as an Adult, the story continues, he finds himself all alone. He starts to hear voices in his head. But these voices are kind, almost angelic(Or was it a trick?)The voice he hears is a voice of an angel. To follow this voice, he finally gets ready to commit suicide.
4.Graveless- He starts to commit suicide, as he is committing the act of slitting his throat, he smiles as it feels so good to die.The voice he heard was actually Beelzebub and he takes control of his soul as he dies.(More Jazz to make understanding that he is no longer in control again)
5. Hell Below- Now Body free, his soul is now in Purgatory, where the demons they pull him down, to hell where he belongs.Burning for all of Eternity. Without a body, without a soul, nothing but serenity he controls nothing (Jazz is the sound of Eternity of nothingness)
6.Omega- Now becoming something.... Different, he has regained consciousness. Seeing all the people he has murdered in the realm of life, clock turning back stating that time has been reset to the very beginning. What is this dark trickery? But now he is becoming a demon... Still not understanding what's going on, he chants to himself what he did to the children, he did so long ago to stay sane.
7. Stranger Things- The man's soul is Fighting with BeelzeBub on who should take over. Beelzebub wins the fight over the soul and becomes whole. He is born into the world as the same child he was back then. Never ending loop of time, as all of this will once repeat again. This is what Hell truly is.(Outro is The Intro to Black Minute)

EVERYONE LIKE THIS SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THE LYRICS

Myusernameistakenwtf

I can't explain how cool the connection between songs is, it ties it all together and just the story as a whole is so much "more" than music. I don't know many bands who can put together such a meaningful masterpiece

oN ReMoArZe

Seraphim did and insane 5 chapter music video series check them out!

Livingthat Twelvelife

Coheed and Cambria's Amory Wars are a pretty amazing story too

Frank Ristick

@QS FaDeZz _ I was gonna say alesana's the artist was a really good story

Dream Theater Metropolis PT. 2 was pretty good too

I think she meant that the amount of quality concept albums out there makes this quite up there.  I agree that Parallax was equal in magnitude, but this is apples and oranges imo.  Tesseract and Coheed's concepts are cool too, just not as good to me as those previously listed imo.

Sacredgeometry

actually the albums are rather cyclic, infinite in that regard, so it's not entirely as ordered as you may think. Alpha and Omega don't necessarily have an ascertainable order except that one is guaranteed before the other.
