Born and raised in Paraguay, she moved to Brazil at an early age in search of challenges and opportunities. Her career gained great visibility because she aimed to make the great international successes accessible to the masses, because at that time the LP discs were expensive to the majority of people. So she adapted several songs to portuguese/spanish, selling with a lower cost.
She raised to prominence in the 1970s with her hit Fernando, a Portuguese-language version of ABBA's song, from the same decade. During her career, she has sold more than 10 million records and won 10 Gold Records, 2 Platinum and a Double Platinum, among other awards.
Currently, Perla has concerts three times a week in small cities in Brazil. In 2006, she received a great tribute to her career in Paraguay. Perla married a brazilian, who was her employer and has an adopted daughter named adult and Perlinha, currently has a granddaughter.

Cuba quiero bailar la salsa.
You dance to the music like nobody does.
The first time I saw you, I knew it was love.
My heart is on fire, the night is divine,
My only desire is making you mine.
You′re the one that I want,
You're the one, yes, you are.
You dance to the music like nobody does.
The first time I saw you, I knew it was love.
You′re the one that I want,
You're the one, yes, you are.
You're the one that I want,
You′re the one, yes, you are.
The song "Cuba" by Perla is a lively and upbeat tribute to the vibrant culture and music scene of Cuba. The lyrics are straightforward yet heartfelt, with the singer expressing her desire to dance to the catchy rhythms of salsa music and make someone special her own. The song is full of romantic energy and optimism, with the singer being struck by love at first sight upon seeing her dance partner.
