Born and raised in Paraguay, she moved to Brazil at an early age in search of challenges and opportunities. Her career gained great visibility because she aimed to make the great international successes accessible to the masses, because at that time the LP discs were expensive to the majority of people. So she adapted several songs to portuguese/spanish, selling with a lower cost.
She raised to prominence in the 1970s with her hit Fernando, a Portuguese-language version of ABBA's song, from the same decade. During her career, she has sold more than 10 million records and won 10 Gold Records, 2 Platinum and a Double Platinum, among other awards.
Currently, Perla has concerts three times a week in small cities in Brazil. In 2006, she received a great tribute to her career in Paraguay. Perla married a brazilian, who was her employer and has an adopted daughter named adult and Perlinha, currently has a granddaughter.

Solamente una Vez
Perla Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Perla's song "Solamente una vez" talk about the life experience of the singer, where they have only loved and enjoyed life once. The song expresses the unique moment of love and how it brings hope to the person's life. The singer emphasises that they have only loved once, but it was enough to fill their heart with the desire to live and see the beauty in life. They express how that one-time love was a miracle that brought the sweet surrender of the soul and full acceptance of love. It created an experience of happiness that made their heart sing with joy.
