Nothing in this song is true but that is exactly how things are.

So Much (For) Stardust [Lyrics]:

I'm in a winter mood, dreaming of spring now
Burning myself down
Burning myself down, burning

I feel like something that's been stretched out over and over again
Until I'm creased and I'm about to break down the middle
Split me right down the middle, right, right down the middle, yeah

The stars are the same as ever
But I don't have the guts to keep it together
Stuck in the permafrost
Stuck in the permafrost

Life is just a game maybe
I'm stuck in a lonely loop, my baby

So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all
So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all

I need the sound of crowds or I can't fall asleep at night
I can't take my thoughts and I
Can't take my thoughts and I am awake
Another year of possibilities left unwrapped
Like gifts the day right after Christmas past
And I'm pretty positive my pain isn't cool enough, pain isn't cool enough

Like a sledgehammer to a disco ball
Crushing all my low low low lows, ache it till you make it
Ache it till you make it

I think I've been going through it
And I've been putting your name to it

So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all
So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all

In another life you were my babe
In another life you were the sunshine of my lifetime
What would trade the pain for? I'm not sure

In another life you were my babe
In another life you were the sunshine of my lifetime
What would trade the pain for? I'm not sure

I used to be a real go-getter
I used to think it'd all get better

So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all
So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all

So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all
So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all

So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all
So much for stardust
We thought we had it all, thought we had it all
Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all...

I'm old. I like music. I somehow missed Fall Out Boy for the entire time they existed as a band until just before this album release. It is almost the only thing I listen to (I do this with most music) right now. Well, I was testing chatGPT-4's speed with a quick prompt " write me a poem" ... I didn't expect this. To everyone who appreciates this song, I think you might appreciate this poem.

Within the shadowed depths of time, our hearts echo with silent beats,
Woven into the cosmic tapestry, stardust kindling in our veins.
Restless whispers of the universe, held captive in our teardrops,
Stains of nebulae on our skin, we carry the cosmos within.

Mirrored in the midnight sky, dreams spin their gossamer threads,
Tied to the moondust, tugged by the gravity of longing.
Through our fingertips, we trace the curve of forgotten galaxies,
In each breath, the scent of ancient suns, unraveling the fabric of existence.

Between reality and echoes, life, an orchestra of sighs,
Simultaneously a fleeting moment and an eternity.
Dancing on the edge of shadows, tasting the joy of existence,
Each breath a miracle, each moment a lifetime.

The trees sway with the rhythm of the cosmic dance,
Petrichor whispers the tales of yesterday, of tomorrow,
Of all the nows that slip through our fingers, grains of sand in the hourglass,
And yet, each passing instant, a testament of resilience, a portrait of the universe.

Our existence, a prism refracting the pure light of cosmic truths,
Chasing the echoes of stars long past, long distant.
Beneath our feet, the earth hums its ancient song,
And we listen, and we live, intertwined with the symphony of the cosmos.

Look up, the sky, a canvas painted with the strokes of infinity,
And realize, we are but stardust, dancing on the edge of time.
A mystery wrapped in the echoes of the cosmos,
Nonetheless, we shine.

Through the stardust of our bones, we write our existence,
In the ink of time, on the parchment of space,
In the cosmic library, every life, a unique story,
And this, our poem, our universe, our cherished home.

@porsl11n

exactly my thoughts!! like the whole r&b sound and the musicality and the samples and references to classic music.. gonna relisten over and over again... so much emotion

@goalhornfanatic9449

My only complaint is I feel like it's missing a really close to Hard Rock song similar to the likes of The Phoenix or Novocaine. But it's a very good album, especially in contrast to MANIA.
