Neatly described as one of the world's best-kept secrets, Blake has released five studio albums, a sountrack to french movie "Presque Rien" and a live album recorded with an orchestra at Cirque Royale in Brussels.
In February 2005 Blake received a gold disc for two songs he co-wrote with Marco Sabiu for French icon Francoise Hardy. The album also won a French grammy.
Blake also had two songs featured in the movie "Trois Petites Filles", directed by Cannes award winning director, Jean-Loup Hubbert. He has collaborated with French Top 20 artist, Emilie Simon, performing a duet and scoring the choral arrangements.
Perry Blakes sixth studio album 'Canyon Songs' will be released in spring 2007. It's quite a departure from previous work with a strong melancholic country flavour.

Perry Blake Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Why does it have to have a name?
It's you and I, you and I
Love walks a long and lonely road
Sticks to the breeze and what it knows
It's you and I, you and I
Friend, you've been whispering again
Wildflowers grow and call your name
Under the moon it stays the same
It's you and I, you and I
Jump through the fields and kiss the sky
Asking the Gods Forgiveness - why?
It's you and I, you and I
Friend, you've been whispering again
Friend, you've been whispering again
The lyrics of Perry Blake's song, "Friend," offer a contemplative and introspective look into the nature of love and relationships. The repetition of the phrase, "Why does it have to have a name?" suggests a resistance to conventional labels and expectations that often come with being in a romantic relationship - a desire to exist outside of cultural norms and societal expectations. Instead, the singer embraces the fluidity and spontaneity that love can bring, personified by the line "Love walks a long and lonely road / Sticks to the breeze and what it knows."
In the next verse, the lyrics shift from a general reflection on love to a more personal rumination on the singer's relationship ("It's you and I, you and I"). The metaphor of wildflowers growing and calling out the singer's name is an allusion to the spontaneity and beauty of love, while the line "Jump through the fields and kiss the sky / Asking the Gods Forgiveness - why?" is an expression of the transcendence and profound sense of awe that comes with deep love.
Overall, Perry Blake's "Friend" is a contemplative meditation on the nature of love, relationships, and the desire for transcendence and freedom beyond societal expectations.
