See Him crying in the manger
King of Heaven
Son of God
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
There He lies
there with the lam?kin
With his Holy Mother Mary
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Glory, Glory, Almighty God!
And on Earth,
Peace to All Men
Hear the joyful angels singing
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
He is born,
let us adore Him
Christ the Lord
King of Kings
Prince of Peace
for All the Universe
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The lyrics of Perry Como's "Christ Is Born" express the wonder and awe of the birth of Jesus Christ. It begins by acknowledging that "He," referring to Christ, is born today, and that he is seen crying in a manger. The song recognizes him as the "King of Heaven" and "Son of God," and praises him with repeated "Hallelujahs." The second verse describes how he lay there with the lambs, dressed only in swaddling cloth, with his mother Mary. The third verse glorifies God in heaven and expresses the message of peace on earth, and the joyous singing of angels. Finally, the song urges all to adore him, reminding listeners that he is Christ the Lord, the King of Kings, and the Prince of Peace.
