I Think of You
Perry Como Lyrics

Like all at once I wake up from something that keeps knocking at my brain
Before I go insane I hold my pillow to my head
And spring up in my bed screaming out the words I dread
I think I love you (I think I love you)
This morning I woke up with this feeling
I didn't know how to deal with and so I just decided to myself
And did not go and shout it when you walked into the room
I think I love you (I think I love you)
I think I love you so what am I so afraid of
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of a love there is no cure for
I think I love you isn't that what life is made of
Though it worries me to say that I never felt this way
I don't know what I'm up against
I don't know what it's all about
I got so much to think about
Hey, I think I love you so what am I so afraid of
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of a love there is no cure for
I think I love you isn't that what life is made of
Though it worries me to say I never felt this way
Believe me you really don't have to worry
I only wanna make you happy and if you say "hey go away" I will
But I think better still I'd better stay around and love you
Do you think I have a case let me ask you to your face
Do you think you love me?
I think I love you
I think I love you
I think I love you
I think I love you
I think I love you
I think I love you
I think I love you
I think I love you
The opening lyrics to Perry Como's song "I Think of You" paint the picture of a lonely night where he has nobody to comfort him. However, in such moments, he takes solace in thinking of the person he loves. He visualizes their face and arms on his pillow, which gives him comfort. When the winter wind comes howling, he thinks of them, and it's as if he crawls under a soft and warm blanket.
The song then transitions into a more reflective state. Como wonders how he ever got through life without his love. He questions if there was a sky until they painted it for him. In essence, he was lost before they came, and with their arrival, life became brighter.
In the final stanza, Como reveals how frequently he thinks of his love; it's almost like the sun sailing out upon the silent sea-as often as one can imagine. He then admits that the reason he only thinks of them is that they are so close to him, and he wants to be just as close to them. Ultimately, "I Think of You" deeply expresses the love and the warmth that the person brings into Perry Como's life.

When I'm alone at night,
When I'm feeling lonely at night,
And there's no one to comfort me,
And there's no one to make me feel better,
I think of you
I think of you to feel comforted,
And suddenly my pillow is your face and your arms.
And suddenly, I feel like you're hugging me tight in your arms,
And when the winter wind comes chasin' after me,
And when cold wind blows during winter,
I think of you
I think of you for warmth and comfort,
And it's as though I crawl beneath the blanket Soft and warm.
And it feels like I'm under a warm and cozy blanket,
How did I get from dark to daylight,
How did I transition from a gloomy state to happiness,
Before you happened to pass by?
Before you came into my life?
How did I find my way through life,
How was I able to navigate through life,
Before you brightened up my sky?
Before you made my life brighter?
Was there a sky at all,
Did the world have color,
Until you painted it for me?
Until you came along and gave color to my life?
How did I get on,
How did I manage,
'Till you came along?
Until you walked into my life?
Who knows how many times I pause in every day,
I wonder how many times I stop and think during each day,
To think of you?
To think of you and how much you mean to me?
As often as the sun sails out upon the silent sea!
As often as the sun rises and sets,
And if you're wonderin' why it is I only think of you,
And if you're wondering why I only think of you,
Well it's because I'd like to be as close to you,
It's because I want to be close to you,
As you've become to me!
As you've become an important part of my life!
I think of you
I think of you because you mean so much to me!
I think of you
I think of you because my thoughts always drift to you!

Brings back so many memories of cold autum evenings. His brother Al Como was my 8th grade science teacher. He was a special guy. Helped the underdog and made beter people of us. Great man Al and Peer.
