Joy to the World
Perry Como Lyrics

Let earth receive her king.
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing (and heaven and nature sing!)
And heaven and nature sing (and heaven and nature sing!)
And heaven and heaven and nature sing.
Joy to the world! the savior reigns
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy (repeat the sounding joy!)
Repeat the sounding joy (repeat the sounding joy!)
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of his righteousness,
And wonders of his love (and wonders of his love!)
And wonders of his love (and wonders of his love!)
And wonders, and wonders of his love.
Perry Como's Christmas classic "Joy to the World" is a hymn of praise, celebrating the arrival of the Lord and Savior on earth. The song opens with the exclamation "Joy to the World!" as the singer joyfully announces the arrival of the king, encouraging the whole of earth to accept him. Como then calls upon every heart to make room for the king, and for heaven and nature to join in singing his praises. This becomes a beautiful, harmonic chorus as the refrain echoes "and heaven and nature sing!" and repeats its proclamation, uplifting the spirit of the listener.
In the second verse, Como reminds us that not only has the Lord arrived, but he also reigns over the world. This is a call to action for every person to employ all their songs and sing of the wonders of the Lord's love. The singer notes that even the natural world joins in, with fields, floods, rocks, hills, and plains all ringing with glorious sounds of joy. The final verse unites both the Lord's truth and grace, making us grateful for his righteousness and wonders of love. This verse is a powerful reminder that divine love is full of wonders, and it fills the hearts of all those who have faith in him.
Overall, "Joy to the World" is a powerful hymn that calls out to every heart to accept the Lord and his love. It proclaims the joys of his arrival, reign, and the wonders of his love that fill our lives. This song is a reminder of the deep faith and devotion that come with the Christmas season.

My family first bought the above album in 1965, and it brings back memories of my childhood and youth. We still have the album, but it has scratches on it and doesn't sound the same. This makes up for it. Thanks, YT.
