Laeti triumphantes
Venite, venite in Bethlehem
Natum videte regem angelorum
Venite adoremus
Venite adoremus
Venite adoremus Dominum.
O come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels!
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation
Sing, all ye citizens of Heaven above.
Glory to God
In the Highest glory!
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
Perry Como's version of "O Come All Ye Faithful" is a classic Christmas carol that encourages believers to come and witness the birth of the King of Angels in Bethlehem. In the first verse, "Adeste fidelis" translates to "Come, faithful ones," and as the carol progresses, it calls upon the choirs of angels to sing in exultation, and citizens of Heaven above to glorify God. The theme of adoration is persistent throughout the song, with "O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord" serving as the repeated refrain.
The song paints a picture of the birth of Christ as a joyous and triumphant event, with a sense of awe and wonder surrounding the occasion. The use of repetitive language and the repetition of the refrain invites the listeners to join in and participate in the worship of Jesus, leading to a feeling of connectedness among the faithful.
