George's Helper
Pete Murray Lyrics

Master, I feel I am much too bright
You all just sit here smiling
And I cannot control myself
When I know I'm right
Oh and I can help you tonight
Sometimes I just feel you're out of place
Hey George, I think I can help you now
Remember you brought this upon yourself
You all just sit here smiling
And I cannot control myself
When I know I'm right
Oh and I can help you tonight
Here it comes, fallin' down on your face
Sometimes I just feel you're out of place
You always end up with egg on your face
You all just sit here smilin'
Hey you all just sit here smilin'
Hey you all just sit here smilin'
Hey you all just sit here smilin'
Hey George, I think I can help you now
The lyrics of Pete Murray's song "George's Helper" appear to be centered around a character who is confident in their abilities and their ability to help those around them. The opening lines "People, this is what I say tonight/Master, I feel I am much too bright" convey this sense of confidence and self-assuredness. They feel like they have a valuable contribution to make and are eager to share it.
As the song progresses, we see more of this character's personality come through. Lines like "When I know I'm right/Oh and I can help you tonight" highlight their belief in their own abilities and their desire to help others. The chorus, with its repeated refrain of "You all just sit here smiling/And I cannot control myself" reinforces the idea that this character feels like they have something important to say, and that they can't help but share it.
The bridge, which features the lines "Here it comes, fallin' down on your face/Sometimes I just feel you're out of place/You always end up with egg on your face" seems to provide some contrast to the confident character we've seen so far. Here, we see a suggestion that perhaps they don't always have the answers, or that they may be overstepping their bounds in trying to help others. It's a moment of vulnerability amidst the confidence that dominates the rest of the song.
Overall, "George's Helper" is a song that explores the tension between a desire to help others and a sense of self-assuredness that may border on arrogance. It's a theme that many of us can likely relate to in some way, and the song's catchy melody and repeated refrain are sure to stick in listeners' heads long after it's over.

I still remember sitting down and listening to this song on the album on Sunday the 25th of September in 2005 - the day that I went out and bought it. It was one of the newest albums in the world at the time and now that was 15 years ago.

This song might not be so popular with George who's afraid of falling eggs, but I love it.

It appears to be the sort with strings. I hope this helps you make an informed consumer choice.
