Opportunity
Pete Murray Lyrics
And so it goes another lonely day
You're savin' time but you're miles away
Your flowers drowning in some bitter tea
For seeing lost opportunity
Find your mirror go and look inside
And see the talent you always hide
Don't go kid yourself, well not today
Satisfaction's not far away
It's waiting just for you
Don't pause too long
It's fading now
It's ending all too soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Your coffee's warm but your milk is sour
Life is short but your here to flower
Dream yourself along another day
Never miss opportunity
Don't be scared of what you cannot see
Your only fear is possibility
Never wonder what the hell went wrong
Your second chance may never come along
Hold on now your exits here
It's waiting just for you
Don't pause too long
It's fading now
It's ending all too soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Hold on now your exits here
It's waiting just for you
Don't pause too long
It's fading now
It's ending all too soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Soon you'll see

This is my song of dreaming called Uhuru
For my gift your ancestors lay in my step from Uluru
My mother's feet traversed a town called Nakuru
While in her womb, I coiled in the Dreaming,
Like a silent tomb, the rainbow Serpent breathes healing
Eighty three, Koech, the Sun Rose
Daunting still, Toil, the stubborn Rose
Thank You , Down Under, my journey comes to a close.
Altjeringa, the deepest most sacred secret of Humanity,
It is all the Creator's dream in factual reality,
The only gift Humanity brings to the Cosmos, dreams in abundance
The only gift Creation offers to The Logos, is gratitude and joy,
For we are accorded Free Will wrapped in unconditional Love,
With Ra at the Centre, the flag remembers the great secret at Miriam's Heart,
Mother is sacred, Father is the Light
The two birth Christ, we all share in their plight
The Blood spilt and the land desecrated,
Children lost, communities devasted,
Mother raped for gold, treated like a convenient whore,
Oh Cousins of Zion, The pain you have borne.
But tough like Lions, for Ra you were born.
You remember the dream, never selling Mother for shine,
Secret keepers of the team, You hear her earnest cries.
A journey in a land so peculiar, Thank You Australia.
Thank You for giving my firsts: my first love , my first heart break
My journey into the Spirits, the journey back feeling my soul shake.
How can one explain colour to the blind?
How can one explain music to the deaf?
So Insane, they called him in kind.
And thus he watched them choose the path of death.
For dreaming cannot be comprehended by intelligence or reason,
But a humility of Heart in all seasons.

“Find your mirror gonna look inside
To see the talent you always hide
Dont go kid yaself no not today
Satisfactions not far away/
Hold on now your exits here
Its waitin just for you/
Dont pause too long its fading out
Its ending all too soon you see”
I listen to this song-when it ends i pause
I think
I think about life-wasted opportunity
My life
Then i remember one thing that has served me dutifully all my years on this planet
Chances come and go-its more than one shot you get in life-be aware-be awake-be prepared to act fast-to SEIZE THE MOMENT!!!
but NEVER think just because opportunities knock that they WILL continue to knockIts the SIGHT you need to RECOGNISE an OPPORTUNITY when it comes-and THAT makes ALL the difference my friends-especially YOU, the younger females and males-there are endless opportunities-ALWAYS-its not just ONE SHOT like eminem said it was-be READY to seize it!!!

i just listened to this song after not having heard it for many years and it made me break down in streams of tears on the floor. i don’t know why, but the lyrics of this song and pete murray’s voice touch me very deeply. i realised i relate to this song a lot and it reminds me not to miss opportunities in life because of fear. as someone who has struggled with bad anxiety for several years, there are many things ive held back from doing due to my stupid anxiety and a fear of the unknown. i don’t want to be that person. a lot has improved for me over the years, but this beautiful song just makes me remember that anything is possible and that my possible achievements in life shouldn’t be stopped by fear.

Forest Walker Amen! Heard it for years but never took in the words till now. The words are simple but true. Fear is made up, we make it up, but we can also tear it down.

My Uncle died in 2006 when I was 11, it crushed me because that was the first time I'd ever lost someone I loved, it took so long for my family and me to feel normal again. After he died this song was always on the radio, and listening to it was comforting, it honestly helped me so much. It's been years since I've heard this song, but hearing it again now makes me think of my Uncle. I still miss him, and I'm still sad that he's gone, but he was a good person, and songs like this remind me of that xoxo
