Yorn started as a drummer who also played guitar. In 1990, he was drumming for his band in a high school talent contest when someone suggested he sing the Replacements song "Talent Show." That went over so well, a competing band asked him to sing Neil Young’s "Rockin' In the Free World" with them.
He was first recognized when the Farrelly brothers picked "Strange Condition" for their film Me, Myself & Irene.
He has gained increasing popularity following the use of his song "Just Another" on popular WB television show Dawson's Creek.
Another of his songs, Murray was used in the credits of the film Igby Goes Down
The song "Undercover" was used in the first Spiderman movie and appears on the soundtrack.
The song "Lose You" was used in the closing of an episode of House on Fox.

Do you want to take a walk outside
If you want a burrito
You can have another bite of mine
It could last you forever
If you're not waiting for the call
Come on over tonight
Come on over this morningMomma says, "You only fall in love once."
And you could leave here tomorrow
You know you wanted to have more
They were looking for answers
And if you never had them score
Yeah, it could last you forever
Just sit here in the store
Come on over tonight
Come on over this morning
Momma says, "You only fall in love once."
And you think you know that
They'll always be there
You never had the time
I want you to be fine
It's a 7-11
Do you want to take a walk outside
If you want a burrito
You can have another bite of mine
It could last you forever
If you're still waiting on that call
Come on over tonight
Come on over this morning
Momma says, "You only fall in love once."
The song "Burrito" by Pete Yorn is about living in the moment and embracing life before it's too late. The first lines "It's a 7-11, do you want to take a walk outside" sets the tone for the song as the singer is trying to get his love interest to step outside and enjoy the present moment. The reference to the burrito serves as a metaphor for life and how it can last forever if you're not waiting for something else to happen.
The repeated lines "Come on over tonight, come on over this morning, Momma says, 'You only fall in love once'" emphasize the idea of not wasting time and taking every opportunity to be with the one you love. The line "And you could leave here tomorrow, you know you wanted to have more" reinforces the idea that life is short and unpredictable. The song's message is that we should live in the moment, appreciate life, and seize the opportunities that come our way.
Overall, "Burrito" is a heartfelt song that encourages listeners to embrace life and love without hesitation. The singer reminds us that we only have one chance at love and that we should make the most of it while we can.

This song makes me so hungry for a burrito. I've been living in Germany for the last few years, and it is literally impossible to get a burrito here. RIP.

If you can't come over tonight come back home in another year. And you know you're hard enough. And you find you're strong enough. And I know your soft and pliable like a Burrito.
