He has gained increasing popularity following the use of his song "Just Another" on popular WB television show Dawson's Creek.
Another of his songs, Murray was used in the credits of the film Igby Goes Down
The song "Undercover" was used in the first Spiderman movie and appears on the soundtrack.

And not to make this sound so hard.
But all of my troubles and my justice fades on such cold steel
I made up that story to change your mind
I could have been somebody else remember me this time
The lyrics to Pete Yorn's song Intro are reflective of a sense of loss and disconnection between two people. The opening line, "I've seen the silence grow between us," is melancholic and suggests a growing distance between two people. The singer laments this fact, acknowledging that he finds it difficult to express his emotions and share his troubles with the other person. He acknowledges that it's not easy to discuss these things, but that they are important.
The line "but all of my troubles and my justice fades on such cold steel" is particularly poignant. It suggests that the singer feels that even when he tries to express himself, he's met with a cold response that makes him feel invisible and unheard. He's aware that he needs to improve his communication skills and connect with people more effectively, but he's not sure how to do so.
The final lines, "I made up that story to change your mind, I could have been somebody else, remember me this time," are a plea for recognition and connection. The singer wants the other person to see him as a complex human being with a rich inner life, rather than a superficial image. He wants to be remembered and understood as his true self.
