Walzer
Peter Alexander Lyrics

Sagte mir: Die mußt do lieben.
Sagte mir: die mußt do lieben.
Heut bist do fern
Und mir
Ist nur der Walzer geblieben.
Wie es einmal war
Mit uns zwei'n mal war
Das erzählt mir der Walzer noch heute.
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
Der letzte Walzer mit dir
Sagte mir: die mußt do lieben.
Mein schönstes Souvenir
Ist dieser Walzer geblieben.
La la la la la la la la la
The song "Walzer" by Peter Alexander tells the story of a romantic encounter at a ballroom dance. The singer, in the last dance of the evening, was thinking of leaving when he spots his love interest, who was standing alone and shyly. The dance ends up being the beginning of their story, and they spend a marvellous time together, but this love affair had a short life. The lyrics communicate the feelings of nostalgia and heartbreak reflecting on the memory of the last dance with the person they once loved. Peter Alexander's vocal tone is melancholic as he sings about how all that is left is the memory of the evening, kept alive by the last waltz they shared. The song ends on a hopeful note, with the singer reminiscing about their time together and the magic of the last waltz they shared.

Hab dank liebes Schicksal
