1. Peter Edward Cook (17 November 1937 – 9 January 1995) was an English satirist, writer and comedian who is widely regarded as the leading figure in the British satire boom of the 1960s. He has been described by Stephen Fry as "the funniest man who ever drew breath." Cook is closely associated with an anti-establishment style of comedy that first emerged in the late 1950s.
2. Peter Cook is Dutch singer and songwriter Peter Kok from The Hague, The Netherlands, who had six Dutch Top 20 hits and enjoyed some modest international glory in the early 1970s as part of Greenfield & Cook. He continued to use Cook as his second name, a literal translation of his real family name, Kok. He participated in the 1977 Dutch Song Contest with the song 'Pinokkio' and later moved to Chile, where he became a succesful record label executive and music entrepreneur.

The only reason I passed my keyboard harmony exam at college 35 years ago. We had to play and harmonise a psalm, to…er, prove we could. So I chose this. Deadpanned. No words sung, of course. But a sniggering, shaking panel of professors. A good day’s work.

I first heard this when it was released in the 70's I have never laughed so much in my life and 40 years later I'm still laughing. Bloody brilliant these two were and very much missed entertainers. Is anyone still listening to it in July 22??

Yours is the first comment I read, and I`m on the same wavelength. Like you, I pmsl way back then. Now, a fornight off 60yrs young, it just popped into my head, from out of the blue? And 2mins ago, I put it in my iphone voice memo for what mates of mine are left in the pub, coz they`ll either remember it, or at least get it? For the past 30yrs I`ve been saying that we are the luckiest generation to have ever lived. Todays youth would probably give you a strange look before getting straight back into their social media, just in case they missed out on a Tik Tok vid. Apart from that, they`d probably need to google the word `mangle`!
Now I`m wondering if my old Cheech`n Chong vinyl is still lying in one of my old man`s sheds. 🤣
(edit) When I think of it, my prerecorded C90 cassette tape of Derek & Clive Live could well be in that pile.of 70/80`s relics. 🤔

It's 2023 now. Barry Humphries had his name stripped from an award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival (which both he and Peter Cook helped come to fruition) because he supported JK Rowling in her stance about trans women. Barry Humphries has now passed away and after his death the directors of the Melbourne Comedy Festival reversed their stance after social media backlash. Too late now you humourless leftie sycophants

When I first heard Derek and Clive I couldn't stop laughing never laughed so much since

For the immortal D&C there is a fraternity of happy C**ts still enthralled by Pete and Dud. I imagine most of them are in my age range (I am 60) and I can still recall the the outrage in my house when I played the first album very loud in my house.

Me to. I’m sat here watching them all. Making me smile
