I remember a sister of mine telling me that PBS was showing a new Sherlock Holmes series. I saw the episodes on Thursday evenings and then the rerun on Sunday evenings. I loved and enjoyed them both equally. I still do. That was in the early 1980s. Hard to believe that was almost 40 years ago. My goodness. I was young then. Where did the years go? No matter. Forgive me for venting to what I am sure is an intelligent and empathetic audience. The best is still ahead. That is my firm belief. Keep the faith. Peace and love to all.

I have also similar feelings. I was very young at that time.At that I was watching alone now with my daughters. How fast the time passed?

Love Jeremy Brett the best Holmes ever !!!!!! Jude Law was such a young lad in this episode.... this series never gets old .

I liked Peter Cushing as Sherlock a bit more than Jeremy Brett, but, Jeremy is certainly my second-favorite out of the many who have played the part over the past century. I am enjoying all of Jeremy's episodes for sure. I can find only a few of Peter Cushing's on YouTube, but recall watching his Sherlock Holmes TV series in the 60s when I was a young teen.

Unfortunately, the same can not be said for the young and beautiful Jude.

These are very engaging. Until PBS ran this series, Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce were the definitive duo. Jeremy Brett holds up exceedingly well and it is set in the proper time period with a much better script. He makes a fascinating Sherlock.
