Number One
Peter France Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Dwellers dwell all the day
They say hey
Apparently they met in a cafe
They're in love to this day
So they say
But when it's all said and done
Like it never really happened
Memories made to be abandoned
He said can I stay a little longer
Just til the clock strikes out
He'd say his heart was growing fonder
If he ever spoke his thoughts aloud
But when it's all said and done
Maybe they'll still be number one
Somehow they made it happen
Making memories that lasted
The lyrics to Peter France's song Number One depict a surreal imagery of a cave and its dwellers, with an underlying theme of transience and impermanence. The opening lines convey the immobility and dullness of the cave dwellers' lives as they remain stagnant in the shadows of the deep, dark cave. However, there is a glimmer of hope as they express their love for each other, having met in a cafe and falling in love ever since. The repetition of "They say hey" adds a light-hearted and carefree element to the song, further accentuating their bliss of being in love.
Yet, amidst their love, the lyrics also suggest a sense of uncertainty and a fleeting love that could be forgotten like an abandoned memory. The lines "But when it's all said and done, they'll go back to one, like it never really happened, memories made to be abandoned" highlights the impermanence and transience of their love. However, the lines "Maybe they'll still be number one, somehow they made it happen, making memories that lasted" hint at optimism, suggesting that perhaps their love can still overcome the obstacles and endure through time.

hear me out hear me out, what if, you can use magazines as extra bullets, like "oh no I'm out, I will rotate my gun 90 degrees and deploy my magazine towards enemies"
I know it's pretty dumb but could be fun
@PeterFrance
already a planned feature ;)

You were on the verge of something great there...
In the city, magazine stands at kiosks should allow you to grab a magazine and jam it in your gun. Free bullets!
@Enginehearth
and when you are out of mags, catch enemy bullets with the mag hole to shoot them back at them?
@leftright6940
@@Enginehearth that is such a good idea 😂

Guilty as well! I just love how After Effects is 100% nondestructive and it has a lot more effects than Photoshop. I also have issues with commitment, so it suits me perfectly.
