Souvenir
Peter La Grand Lyrics

And the things I might have said but I never did
Sit on the shelf like souvenirs of a better time
A time that hasn't come quite yet
Another day ends as the sun falls into the sea
And the change, it has not come, the one to set me free
And the songs I used to know now I can't recall
All the ways I used to hope they all fail me now
But, from the edge of night appear stars into the sky
And they mirror every one of the city lights
So I trust some light will come so that I can see
And, though lost I still might walk with it to guide me
Peter La Grand's song Souvenir reflects on the passage of time and the missed opportunities that come with it. The singer reminisces about the things he could have said but didn't, as well as the songs he used to know but can no longer recall. The memories of these better times are now like souvenirs sitting on a shelf, a reminder of what once was. The singer longs for change, but it has yet to come. He hopes for a light to guide him through the darkness he's feeling lost in, which is reflected in the stars in the sky that mirror the city lights.
The lyrics of Souvenir are introspective yet relatable. They touch on the universal theme of missed opportunities and the longing for change. The use of metaphors, such as souvenirs and stars, adds depth to the already poignant lyrics. The song's melancholic tone is reflected in the slow tempo and the haunting melody.
Overall, Souvenir is a powerful and thought-provoking song that prompts listeners to reflect on their own lives and the things they might have missed.
