In 2000, after the disband of the popular Chilean rock band Los Tres, lead vocalist Álvaro Henríquez decided to start a new musical project. Later that same year, along with Camilo Salinas, Nicolás Torres and Pedro Araneda (originally it was Cristián Espiñeira, but later replaced) he formed this new band, named Pettinellis after his mother's lastname.
After participing in a tribute album for Violeta Parra in 2001, they release their first studio album in 2002, that went Gold disc for its sales with singles like "Hospital" and "Ch Bah Puta la Güeá". In 2003 they performed the theme song of the movie "Sexo con Amor", that became one of the most succesful Chilean movies.
In 2004 Nicolás Torres and Camilo Salinas decide to leave the band, fact that led to the definitve disband of Pettinellis. Since then Álvaro Henríquez started a solo career, and Nicolás Torres started to focus on his band Silvestre.
In 2011 they announced to come back with a live show on august 19.

Creo que ya no hay forma
Al menos lo puedo intentar
Si quisiera oir tu voz hoy dia
Creo que no podria
Al menos la puedo inventar
Al menos la puedo inventar
Al menos la puedo inventar
Hoy trataria de olvidarte
Creo que ya es muy tarde
Para pensar en olvidar
Hoy trataria de olvidarte
Creo que ya es muy tarde
Para pensar en olvidar
Para pensar en olvidar
Para pensar en olvidar
Para pensar en olvidar
The lyrics of Pettinellis's song "Anparax" deal with themes of longing and loss, with the singer wrestling with their desire to connect with someone who is no longer in their life. The song's opening lines - "Si quisiera hablar contigo ahora/Creo que ya no hay forma/Al menos lo puedo intentar" - roughly translate to "If I wanted to talk to you now/I don't think there's a way/But at least I can try." Here, the singer is acknowledging that the person they want to speak with may be out of reach, but they still feel compelled to try to connect with them in some way. The repetition of "al menos lo puedo intentar" emphasizes their determination to try despite the odds.
As the song continues, the singer grapples with the impossibility of reconnecting with this person, even resorting to "inventing" their voice in order to hear it again. The lines "Si quisiera oir tu voz hoy dia/Creo que no podria/Al menos la puedo inventar" translate to "If I wanted to hear your voice today/I don't think I could/But at least I can invent it." This highlights the desperation the singer feels to find any way to connect with this person, even if it means relying on their own imagination.
The chorus of the song, which repeats the phrase "hoy trataria de olvidarte" ("today I would try to forget you"), underscores the pain the singer is experiencing as they struggle to move on. Despite their efforts to forget, they acknowledge that it may be too late - "Creo que ya es muy tarde/Para pensar en olvidar" ("I think it's already too late/To think about forgetting"). The repetition of these lines, along with the song's overall melancholic tone, create a sense of profound sadness and longing.
