The world is upside down
No resistance anymore
The bridge is open, the room is empty
Can you feel it through your veins?
Pain, resistance, suffering
You've got to ride the main road
Often we're distracted
It always ends up the hard way
Don't walk that isle again!
Pain, resistance, suffering
Pain, resistance, suffering
Just in front of you, an ideal state of awakening
Surpass the fears, take things over
The balance between right and wrong within reach!
Pain, resistance, suffering
Pain, resistance, suffering
Suffering!
The lyrics of Phlebotomized's song "Pain Resistance Suffering" delve into the complexities of the human experience, particularly the struggle against pain and suffering. The opening lines set the tone by declaring that the world is in disarray, lacking resistance and feeling void. The imagery of the open bridge and empty room evokes a sense of desolation and a haunting emptiness. The metaphor of feeling something "through your veins" suggests a deep and visceral connection to the pain and suffering being explored in the song.

There is a call to move towards an "ideal state of awakening," suggesting a desire for personal growth and transcendence. The idea of surpassing fears and taking control indicates a quest for empowerment and overcoming adversity. The reference to finding a balance between right and wrong hints at the internal conflict and moral dilemmas that we grapple with in times of suffering.
The song culminates in the powerful declaration of "Suffering!" which serves as a poignant conclusion to the exploration of pain, resistance, and suffering. It encapsulates the raw emotion and intensity of the human experience, acknowledging the inevitability of suffering while also hinting at the potential for growth and transformation that can arise from facing adversity.
