So here's my deal.
I'm pretty anti-circumcision. So much of the discussion surrounding this issue involves people saying that uncircumcised penises are 'ugly', that intact men are 'unclean' or 'dirty', and that boys should be circumcised because their penises should look like their father's (What?!)
As a European, I am intact. Frankly, it pisses me off when circumcised guys (or even women) tell me how hard it must be to wash my penis. It pisses me off when Americans tell me that my penis is ugly, when they've been raised in a culture that normalises penises covered in scar tissue. It pisses me off when people discuss removing parts of a boy's body based on the subjective aesthetic values of hypothetical sexual partners they won't even meet until over a decade in the future.
This video made some good points, but it wasn't perfect. The only medical organisation on the planet that gets anywhere even close to recommending circumcision is the American Academy of Pediatrics, and their official position is far less strident than the media has suggested. The idea that circumcision can decrease HIV transmission rates is based on a limited group of studies conducted in Africa that have been roundly criticised in the medical community based on methodological and ethical concerns.
And at no point did this video mention the ethics of the issue. Removing an individual's body parts without their consent is always wrong. It would be wrong even if there were conclusive evidence in favour of the supposed 'health benefits' (which there is not).
In the past, I have lost my temper with the pro-circ crowd. But I don't do that anymore. I don't want to make anyone feel bad about their body by screaming at them that they've been mutilated. To do so would make me just as bad as those who scream at me that my penis is ugly and that I'm dirty. Regardless of the facts, it's just mean, and it doesn't help the conversation.
I'm not going to shout and scream like a stereotypical anti-circumcision fanatic, but I understand why they're mad. People behave that way because the discussion is so frustrating. In no other area of medicine do we forcibly remove healthy body parts from non-consenting infants based on subjective aesthetic standards or because of spurious claims of 'health benefits' that won't even be an issue until literally years and years later, especially when we have alternatives that are non-destructive and proven to be far more effective (in this case, in the form of condoms).
People can go on and on about 'health benefits' or ugliness all they want. At the end of the day, people don't circumcise their sons for these reasons; they do it because their parents did it to them. That's it.
TL;DR - Don't circumcise. It's unnecessary and unethical. But don't be assholes to people either. Everyone has the right to feel good about their body.

Lucas Thats not entirely true, Most jews get circumcised. And only American and British jews for the most part consider reform actually jewish. Almost all jews are circumcised.

@me also it is not preferable in islam. I am living one of most modernized muslim country in here we are all even atheist ones circumcisied. Its because fear of exclusion from society.
