Joe Tex These Taming Blues
Phosphorescent Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Is it ever gonna not be so hard to see you around?
Am I really really really really gonna have to really gonna have to really have to leave town?

I mean I called upon a bunch of angels calling angels ain't you supposed to come and take away these blues?

I mean we came upon a bunch of rabies and there is nothing all us little animals can do.

All five kinds of rains
All nine kinds of thunder and
Eighteen white horses who will not ever come to me!

Don't plant your feet, love, in that garden of blame.
Don't break me no more, love.
I'm already tame.

Is it ever gonna stop this trouble of just being around my friend?
Am I really really really really gonna have to really gonna have to really have to leave town again?

I mean I lay myself upon the water calling water ain't you supposed to come and save us all from all these flames?
I mean we're caught among the awful branches and you know they're burning us and yes they're burning all of us's names.

And I stood on the shore.
All wilted and wondering,
"Ain't you got nobody, ain't you still sweet tonight?"

So don't plant no more feet, love, in that forest of blame.
Don't break me no more, love.
I'm already tame.

Overall Meaning

The song "Joe Tex These Taming Blues" by Phosphorescent is a ruminative exploration of the difficulty of letting go of a painful relationship. The singer is struggling to come to terms with the fact that they keep running into their ex-lover, who they still have strong feelings for, and wondering if they will ever be able to move on. The lyrics are filled with vivid imagery, both natural and supernatural, as the singer calls out for help from angels and water to ease their troubled heart. The song builds with intensity as the singer becomes more and more desperate, culminating in the plaintive chorus where they implore their former love not to hurt them any further.

The multiple references to water and rain throughout the song create a sense of cleansing and rebirth, but ultimately the singer cannot escape the pain of their failed relationship. The line "I'm already tame" suggests a resignation to their fate, but it is delivered with a certain harshness that hints at the struggle that still lies ahead. The haunting melody and sparse, atmospheric arrangement of the music further reinforce the melancholic tone of the lyrics, making "Joe Tex These Taming Blues" a haunting and introspective piece.

What feasts did Jesus celebrate?

Feasts & Holy Days Jesus & GOD'S Church Celebrated!

Jesus Observed Passover- Matthew 26:2, Matthew 26:17-19
Jesus Observed the Feast of Unleavened Bread.- Mark 14:12
Jesus Pointed to Shavuot (Pentecost)-1 Corinthians 16:8
Jesus & GOD'S Church- Feast of Trumpets-Matthew 24:30-31
Jesus & Church kept the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)-Acts 27:9
Jesus & Church kept the Feast of Tabernacles -John 7:1-2; 7:8;
Jesus & GOD'S Church kept-The Last Great Day-John Ch 7-9

Jesus only observed these things that are in the Bible as the scriptures document and prove! All holidays, customs and traditions that are not, in the Bible, are not, from GOD, and are rejected by GOD, as Mark 7:6-9 makes clear!!

Isaiah 29:13
13 The LORD says:
“These people (all disobedient false worshippers) come near to GOD with their mouth
and honor GOD with their lips,
but their hearts/minds are far from GOD.
Their worship of GOD
is based on merely human rules they have been taught. "

Mark 7:6-9
6 Jesus answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘This people (disobedient false worshippers) honors GOD with their lips,
But their heart/mind is far from GOD.
7 And in vain they worship GOD,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”
9 Jesus said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition"

GOD is clear and people are deceived and wasting precious time, money, effort and resources on false holidays that GOD hates, rejects and severely punishes for, is fact!!

Amen!!! So be it!!

Joel 2:1-17
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as a morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his army is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
12 therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly.
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

Ahh I forgot I learned of this song from Skins until these comments. I introduced it to my mom and it became our favorite song to belt out at the top of our lungs. She passed away last year and I come here to listen to it when I think of her. I love and miss you so much, mom.

She is in a better place now, but still with you at every time in your life, because a soul can't die
