1. Shoegazers Pia Fraus started in 1998 in Tallinn, Estonia when six art school students (Kärt Ojavee, Kristel Loide, Rein Fuks, Tõnis Kenkmaa, Reijo Tagapere, and Joosep Volk) came together. Their first gig was in spring 1999.
After some concerts they started recording their first album Wonder What It's Like which was released in spring 2001 by themselves. Then they sent some demos to different labels and the next full-length album (In Solarium) was released under Clairecords (Sacramento, CA, United States) in summer 2002. Kristel Loide left the band and Eve Komp replaced her. Before the release of their next album, Margus Voolpriit replaced Joosep Volk. In autumn 2003 Clairecords released Plastilina EP which included tracks from Wonder What It's Like. At the beginning of 2004 Vinyl-Junkie released In Solarium with bonus tracks in Japan. In September later that year Mooie Island EP was released under their own label SekSound. In spring 2005 Vinyl-Junkie Recordings released compilation CD Sailing On A Grapefruit Lake in Japan which also includes two videos. Winter 2006 saw the birth of Pia Fraus's next LP Nature Heart Software released by SekSound.

Pretend To Be Here
Pia Fraus Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
So still ever for real I'm falling asleep
I promise you'll find those beautiful light
We're making for you, we're waiting for you
You have to save these memories
I promise you'll find those beautiful light
We're making for you, we're waiting for you
You have to save these memories
The lyrics of Pia Fraus's song "Pretend To Be Here" are open to interpretation, but at the core, they seem to address the themes of truth, beauty, and memory. The first line, "Truth never ends, the closer I see," suggests that the search for truth is ongoing and ever-present. The second line, "So still ever for real, I'm falling asleep," creates a sense of melancholy or weariness, as if the search for truth is tiring or overwhelming.
The next two lines are perhaps the most evocative: "I promise you'll find those beautiful light / We're making for you, we're waiting for you." Here, the singer seems to be addressing someone who is struggling or lost, promising that they will eventually find beauty and light. The repetition of "we're making for you, we're waiting for you" underscores the idea that there are people who care and who are actively working to create something positive for the listener.
The final two lines, "You have to save these memories / I promise you'll find those beautiful light," seem to suggest that the key to finding beauty and truth is to hold onto memories, to remember the good things and to let those memories guide you. Overall, the song creates a dreamlike, slightly melancholy mood, with a sense that there is beauty and truth to be found if you can only hold on long enough.
