Damn I'm upset about what his close friend said on another video about how he warned Rich that he was pushing it too hard and that he needed to give his body a break. As a friend he was telling Rich to slow the hell down or he was going to have big problems. But Rich just insisted that "this was what his followers wanted to see" This is a guy who is a close friend of Rich. Said he knew him for 27 years. He said he told Rich he had to get off the gear he was too big and he was getting too big and he needed to stop, he needed to pump the brakes and take it easy and give his body a rest. Rich's response "This is what my followers wanna see"...
Damn

This really hit me, as an insecure person myself. I'm a really sad to hear this. I have something to say about it. Now I'm going to assume for the sake of this opinion, that when Rich said that, he actually meant it and believed it that "this is what his followers want to see" - rather than him just saying that to the guy to rationalize it and get him off of his back so he didn't have to hear it. I/we all know how annoying it is close friends or family tell us to stop doing something that we already know we should stop doing (even though we know where it's coming from)

It just makes me so sad because Rich's size actually wasn't what I wanted to see and it wasn't why I was still a fan. So his size is what caught my attention at first, and then it was his videos. And as I got to know Rich through his videos, the value and the likability came 100% from how genuine he was. Rich was far from perfect. I wasn't a fan because he looks like Smashmouth and Fred Durst on steroids, or for his personal shortcomings, allegations, douchiness, previous issues, etc. It was how genuine he was. He owned up to his mistakes and became a guy who was accountable and straight up despite his screw-ups.

To me it almost felt as if he was past his prime. I mean obviously he was a tank and probably the biggest bodybuilder walking around, but the last time I had seen him give his all for a show, he didn't get the result he wanted. After that I basically said okay Rich isn't really a competitor anymore, he's making his living from YouTube and 5% nutrition and collaborations. Cool. He's owning his previous mistakes, acknowledging that he's not going to take first in a show, and being honest with everybody. Giving real life advice to help people struggling with certain issues and guiding people down a certain path while trying to mitigate their less desirable outcomes. He had the experience and he wanted to spread his knowledge to people learning. Rich was making a living being an influencer and guiding people. Rich didn't need to be blasting and cruising if he wasn't going to be competing. The guy's value was elsewhere.

That being said, He was a genetic super elite and it would be a travesty not to push that to its full potential. So he did that. For a long time, and he got to where he aged out of it. I wish the dude had realized he didn't have to be pushing himself and abusing the compounds like that because he's someone that I wish the fitness industry still had. Rich is a great, and I'm talking an exceptionally great personality for guys who are getting into bodybuilding to ✅ check out. Because they will learn a lot not only by listening to him but by looking at him. You see this guy who's basically the biggest guy, and he's sitting there straight up telling you about what he did and how - and what you should or shouldn't do and how. But they get to see a guy who didn't take all of his own advice all the time. It always seemed to me like he learned a lot from his mistakes. Rich has a good way of teaching people so that they can learn from his mistakes. I know that from watching him. I gained not only the knowledge that I did... which is a lot of knowledge about compound use and safety, risk versus reward, muscle building techniques, and even just general knowledge on the sport and life etc by listening - but throughout watching all his videos and seeing his progression over time I was able to take away other less obvious gems. I saw some things that I wanted to emulate, and I saw some things that I wanted to avoid by looking at Rich. There's something to be said for someone who exposes you to both sides.

My point is the guy was very valuable beyond having gigantic muscles. He rocked the look really well and made people want to be bodybuilders. His tattooed accented his physique really really well and his muscles were crazy. He didn't have to and he shouldn't have kept pushing himself like that. We could have had a smaller version of the dude saying the same stuff to us. I feel like he earned that right getting to be the age he was if you know what I mean. Look at some of the other guys. They get a little older and they go a different route.

My doctor, for example, used to compete; but he's 44 or 45 now. He may or may not still use some PED's in a reasonable quantity on top of his HRT which is prescribed and he maintains an amazing physique. Makes a living coaching people online and running YouTube channel where he yells at people and sells cookbooks.

RIP Rich 🎹

Dude told everyone how it's was! Told you the risks of juice and the affects on not just your body but the people you will enevitably leave behind. He didn't hide anything. And unfortunately paid the ultimate sacrifice. Under all the muscle he still had a good heart. I hope he's resting easy now. RIP Rich! 💪❤️

Rich was a really nice guy. He didn't do it for the girls or the money. It was his obsession, his life. In the end, he took it too far and it killed him. But he had his heart in the right place

vivid.worker

correct me if im wrong but if he died of a drug overdose isnt that not taking body building too far and more so a separate addiction?

Three years ago I was an overweight kid who wanted to change. I started working out and looked to rich for inspiration and motivation. He died soon after I’ve started. I just want him to know I’ve lost 30 pounds and got myself a six pack, and that I come back to this video every now and then to keep motivating myself.
