I think the suggestion is more the attempt to capture something dynamic in a much more static format.
Which music has absolutely become.
The difference between live and recorded music isn't even summed up with the old 'night and day' analogy.
In a time where live music is mostly impossible, particularly the intimate clubs and coffee houses, capturing the dynamic of live music in a recorded format is like trying to capture a shark in photography.

Does this qualify as post rock? I used to hear a lot of only instrumental music. For example, I knew Coldbones and Lonesome thanks to this channel. If you like post rock, I recommend you all "Worldhaspostrock", "WherePostRockDwells" and "In the woods" channels. They won't disappoint you.

I hear influence from bands like Explosions in the Sky and If These Trees Could Talk in a lot of JJ's stuff, but I find he still manages to create unique and captivating soundscapes that are distinctly his own.
Being a part of a group like Here At the End likely filled his head with all these uplifting and less aggressive melodies.
Whatever one might categorize it, it's a great listen.
