A humble beginning busking on the street has paved the way for the brothers to become the hardworking, international touring artists they are today. Having progressed from playing Bourke Street Mall to playing a record breaking 5 sold out shows at Melbourne’s Shebeen, they also sold out shows in London and performed to a monster crowd of 10,000+ punters at Lowlands Festival in The Netherlands. They were the second highest selling act at Lowlands Music Festival merch tent, which was beyond expectations for everyone involved, considering the massive lineup. Yes, It’s Melbourne’s own Pierce Brothers that have exploded onto the international scene over the last few months and Australia should be very, very proud.
Whilst in the Netherlands, the energetic duo was invited to play on 3FM Radio to officially open the Lowlands Festival. To an audience of 1.5million listeners, the Pierce Brothers put their stamp on Lorde’s ‘Tennis Court’ complete with a didgeridoo solo, a Calvin Harris sing-along and more than a few of the boys’ trademark yelps and howls! Watch the footage here.
With The Night Tree EP released earlier this year and debuting at #1 on the AIR Album chart and #21 on the ARIA Album Chart, the unstoppable Pierce Brothers are excited to announce a run of shows back on Australian soil including slots at AWME, Big Sound, Caloundra Music Festival and Gorgeous Fest.
"Pierce Brothers have exploded as one of Australia’s must-see up-and-coming live acts. Their DIY approach sees them functioning entirely independently, free from major labels, the duo have now sold over a staggering 25,000 CDs, featured in NME and blown audiences away at sell-out shows from Melbourne and Sydney to London and Liverpool"
Tone Deaf
A nice piece of folk music, this one. Catchy, with vocals and harmonies that fit perfectly in the tune."

"These guys thrive on the stage and the amount of energy they bring to a show is simply amazing."
Timber and Steel
"Like a next-generation John Butler Trio, Pierce Brothers have nothing but greatness ahead."

Overdose
Pierce Brothers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I'll be covered in mud
I'd be uncomfortably known
Well I could talk to you if you could just throw my cigarette
I love to dwell on the dark times
Again
She's my overdose
My overdose
Oh oh oh oh ohoho
She's my overdose
My overdose
I took you to the beach and now we'd let the tide come in
And it would swallow you whole
I'd never see you again
But I could see you on the beach with him, you're walking away
And the water it takes me
Away
Oh oh oh oh ohoho
She's my overdose
My overdose
Oh oh oh oh ohoho
She's my overdose
My overdose
Well I can see you taking
Get out of my head
I said get out of my head
Get out of my head my friend
Well I can see you taking
Get out of my head
I said get out of my head
Get out of my head my friend
Well I can see you taking
Get out of my head
I said get out of my head
I said get out of my head
Oh oh oh oh ohoho
She's my overdose
My overdose
Oh oh oh oh ohoho
She's my overdose
My overdose
The song "Overdose" by Pierce Brothers is about someone who is struggling to let go of a past relationship. The use of the metaphor of being covered in mud or diving into the dirt among the indies and scrum represents their feeling of being stuck and lost. The repetition of the phrase "she's my overdose" in the chorus highlights the idea that this past relationship has become an addiction that they cannot break, no matter how hard they try.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of jealousy and the pain of seeing someone you love with someone else. The lines "But I could see you on the beach with him, you're walking away/ And the water it takes me/ Away" show how the memories of the past relationship can be overwhelming and transport the singer back to their lowest moments. The repeated phrases "Get out of my head" and "away" further emphasize this feeling of being trapped in their own thoughts and memories.
Overall, "Overdose" is a powerful song that captures the desperation and pain of trying to move on from a past relationship, and the difficulty of breaking free from the emotional addiction it can create.

He sings another verse at the end. Would be interested waht the exact words are. Also every body has the same lyrics and i'm wondering if "taking" should
be "talking".
