Starting off the song, the singer is just setting the scene for us. He’s in his love interest’s bedroom, they’ve been at it for a while and it’s starting to get a little raunchy. The upstairs neighbors are going to know what’s going on soon.

I've been inside your bedroom a thousand years
Another romantic(?) line referencing how long the two have been at it. Passionate or not, eventually you’re going to start getting bored and feel like you’ve been there forever.

And as you tie me to the bed for good I say
I think that would be considered a red flag if someone started tying you up for good. Yikes.

That I want you in the most unromantic ways
The title of the song is mentioned here, clearly this is not a love song. He wants her, but not in the ways that any romantic partner would want to hear.

Louisiana, you're torturing me with a beautiful face
She’s stunning, but apparently she’s trouble for him. He mentions Louisiana, most likely as an address, so he’s not just referring to the state in general.

Ana come on, I thought we had a damn good thing (damn good thing)
Her name is Ana, and he thought things were good between them. Apparently not anymore.

A penny in the couch and a diamond ring
Not sure what this means. Maybe he’s referring to what he’s left in her sofa cushions and what she’s left on his hand. Ambiguous lyrics here.

So baby stay away from my friends
The chorus repeats a few times throughout the song. Here, he’s asking her to stay away from his friends because he’s going to need them when it’s over. Implying that there’s some kind of end to their fling in sight.

Because I need them to carry me when it's over
Self-explanatory. He’s going to lean on his friends when this doesn’t work out for him.

I'll count back from ten and you can listen to
Another repeated lyric, I think he’s telling her that he’s going to need a little distance and time after they break up. Maybe he’ll give her a call ten days after the split and they can talk about it.

Glass hearts shattering
This whole line is kind of beautiful. A fragile heart shattering is a really nice visual to go along with the song.

I don't know how you got into me
He’s not really sure how this happened. Maybe he’s asking himself that question or maybe it’s directed at her.

Down my throat and made a home in my veins
Again, not the most romantic phrasing. He’s saying she’s become a part of him in a more physical way.

They used to be the rivers that would take us away
Using the metaphor of rivers, he’s saying that what brought them happiness and adventure in the past is now gone.

But now you only call me every Christmas and my birthday
She’s turned into one of those acquaintances that only reach out during the holidays. Ouch.

I still can't believe how you look next to me
Despite everything, he’s still physically attracted to her.

Visualizing this is not ideal. No one wants to be associated with this image.

And you can listen to something that you've never heard before (never heard before)
Maybe after he counts back from ten she’ll come back into his life and listen to what he has to say this time.

He’s saying that she doesn’t understand what it’s like to wake up with certain demons or fears.

Scaring the thought of kissing razors
This lyric is kind of graphic. Kissing razors would not be an enjoyable thing to do. Maybe he’s referencing self-harm and how he’s considering it?

This blood evacuation is telling me to cave in
This is even more graphic than the last one. Blood evacuation is a really disgusting way to say that he’s hurting. He’s implying that he’s close to giving up.

Stay away
The song’s closing line, the artist is telling Ana to stay away from his friends and his personal life. Easier said than done, buddy.

Oh no
This is just a filler line, like “uh oh” or “oh geez.”
