In September 2001, Pierre Lapointe participated in the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, where he won three prizes. Lapointe created and presented his own show "Petites chansons laides" in Montreal and Quebec City, and in France -- which were his first songs start to play on radio stations. Critics have been very positive about him and his career.
In 2002, he received financing from the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec to help him record a first commercial disc, and in the summer of 2003, he signed with Audiogram, which allowed him to produce his first disc, "Pierre Lapointe" (2004). It was an instant success. Pierre Lapointe's second album "La forêt des mal-aimés" (2006) was the #1 album in Canada for the first week after its release (28 000 CDs sold), and lifted Lapointe's eponymous first album to #7 in the charts.

The lyrics to Pierre Lapointe's "Les lignes de ma main" caution listeners against placing too much trust in what the stars may foretell. The singer warns against the idea that everything will be okay, emphasizing that life is not always an easy path. One's fate is far from sealed, but rather changes with each decision they make as they chart their own course.
The singer urges the listener to find happiness in their life and to hold onto it when they do, even when facing challenges. The key is to trust in the path that led to that happiness and to not doubt oneself. The ultimate message of the song seems to be that even when one experiences difficulties, they should not let this dictate their approach to life. Rather, one must take into account their own path, their own set of experiences, and move forward confidently.
Overall, "Les lignes de ma main" seems to be a message of hope and encouragement. No one's path is set in stone, and there is always hope for the future. The singer's message is one that is well worth keeping in mind when facing challenges, and the song itself is a testament to the power of music to inspire and encourage listeners in times of doubt.
