So much to learn, thirteen years old
The night was as cold as it was dark
But seeing you was worth the cold
I saw lake down by a tree
Asked if you wanted to explore
And though you thought it was make believe
Julia, I donât wanna scold ya
Julia, I just wanna hold ya
If youâre down too let me know
Julia, boy I wish I told ya
Julia, that I think your golden
We can pack our things and go, we can pack our things and go
I was your waiter for a week
Got you the drinks to slow your roll
The sun was shining on her cheek
Her silhouette was made of gold
But you went north and I went south
Although it felt like a stoneâs throw
You blame the braces in our mouths
I say the spark would only grow
Julia, I donât wanna scold ya
Julia, I just wanna hold ya
If youâre down too let me know
Julia, boy I wish I told ya
Julia, that I think your golden
We can pack our things and go, we can pack our things and
Remember running through the fields
The rain came down harder than snow
And though my music persevered
I lost my chance to let you know
Remember lying on the beach?
So much to learn twenty years old
A simple girl with simple needs,
She likes the sand between her toes.
Julia, I donât wanna scold ya
Julia, I just wanna hold ya
If youâre down too let me know
Julia, boy I wish I told ya
Julia, that I think your golden
We can pack our things and go, we can pack our things and go
"Pigeons Playing Ping Pong's" song "Julia" is a nostalgic, soulful tune that describes moments shared between the singer and a girl named Julia. The lyrics describe different encounters and experiences they had together throughout the years. The first verse takes us back to the time when they were both thirteen years old, walking through a park on a cold, dark night. The singer remembers being excited to see Julia, and they decided to explore a lake by a tree. Despite Julia's initial hesitance, the singer took the opportunity to confess his feelings to her.
The second verse takes place when the singer was working as a waiter, and Julia was one of his customers. He remembers her sitting in the sunshine, her silhouette made of gold. Although they had a connection, they eventually lost touch, and the singer believes it was due to their braces. However, he thinks their spark would have grown if they had continued to see each other.
In the final verse, the singer remembers running through the fields with Julia when it started raining heavily. He also describes lying on the beach with a different girl who prefers simplicity. The chorus remains the same throughout the song, with the singer expressing his desire to hold and be with Julia.
The song's nostalgic and sentimental feel is amplified by the upbeat, catchy rhythm and melody. The lyrics beautifully capture the bittersweet memories of a past love, which the singer still holds close to his heart, despite the years that have passed.

Pigeons are criminally underrated and that's easy to throw around but it's true w this band. I'm assuming their influences are strong. There real Doobie bros, Zappa, Dead- ETC sounding
