Long Gone
Pilate Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

And the fires almost dead
Well there's this ringin' in my head
Like a runaway train that's ridin' through my mind

Tried to nurse me back to health
For a reason I can't tell
Yeah it's clearer now I stole you ?could sell?
[Chorus:]
Yeah don't try to save me I'm long gone
Yeah don't try to save me I'm not all I thought I was
And the path, we take, where it's you I hope to break
And I can't see why this time

Now it chills me to the bone
Yeah those lovely nights they should despise
That I let you down, now leave me here alone

[Chorus: Repeat 2X]

No I don't wanna let you down

No I don't wanna bring you down
My time is runnin' out

Overall Meaning

In "Long Gone," Pilate sings about feeling lost and alone, plagued by regrets and mistakes. The opening lines set the tone for the rest of the song, describing a sense of exhaustion and hopelessness. The singer describes a "ringin' in my head," which could be interpreted as a metaphorical noise generated by his own thoughts and feelings.

The second verse reveals some more backstory, suggesting that the singer has been physically ill, perhaps trying to cope with his emotional pain. Yet, he seems to be unable to shake off the feelings that haunt him, leading to a sense that he has somehow failed or betrayed someone he cares about. There's an enigmatic line about stealing something, which may suggest that he has taken or hurt someone close to him.

The chorus is a plea not to try to save him, as he feels utterly lost and undone. He confesses that he is not all he thought he was, implying that he may have had a grander vision for himself that he has failed to achieve. The final lines of the chorus suggest that the person he hopes to break is himself, hinting at a sense of self-destructiveness.

In the final verse, the singer seems to acknowledge his own mistakes, feeling regretful that he has let someone else down. He seems to long for companionship and connection, yet feels that he is not worthy, and time is running out for him. The repetition of the chorus at the end underscores the sense of stuckness and despair that runs throughout the song.

It’s excellently animated!

I have some constructive criticism;
It Walks the line between a kids show and a more teen-adult show... poorly. It often tilts from one side to the other. Making it to adult for most kids and to kiddy for most adults.
It needs to pick an audience, or it won’t have much of one.

Honestly I liked it, I’d make a decent show with a few kinks worked out if it. but I found my interest flagging at several parts, as it felt… censored, like something something more was supposed to happen but got kid-afied to make it more family.

Personally I couldn’t make a recommendation of wether to step into the older or younger demographics.
It’s clearly got potential… but, I can’t really tell for what.
It feels like… it’s missing something but someone added extra something els to try to fill it in.
