The three-piece band is a 'refreshingly different, reassuringly traditional' folk band, bringing together some of English folk's best talents. Named after the Rudyard Kipling poem (set to music by the great Peter Bellamy A Pilgrim's Way), they offer a unique brand of 'no-frills' folk, reflecting their musical apprenticeship in the industrial North West - edgier than the folk on the village green but firmly rooted in the traditions of England and its cross-currents with Ireland and America.
Box player, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Edwin Beasant is a long-term fixture in the session tent of most UK folk festivals, as well as being a veteran of the well-respected dance band "Jabadaw".
Singer Lucy Wright is an internationally acclaimed jews harp player, increasingly in demand as a session musician and was described by Maggie Boyle as 'a wonderful young singer, possessed of one of the finest & most agile voices I ever heard'.
Fiddle player Tom Kitching has racked up dozens of festival appearances and two records on the Fellside label with guitarist Gren Bartley, as well as performing nationally in a variety of other line-ups.
Jon Loomes (Cittern, Guitar, Hurdy-Gurdy, Concertina, etc!) A consummate performer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and ethno-musicologist, Jon is renowned for his work with traditional English folk music.
His debut solo album was released by Fellside Records to considerable acclaim and he has subsequently appeared as a guest musician on numerous CDs.
