Near the beginning and at the end of the song, a field recording of fans in Liverpool's Kop singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" is superimposed over the music. This Rodgers and Hammerstein song became the anthem of Liverpool F.C. after Gerry & the Pacemakers had a number-one hit with their recording. Roger Waters is in fact a staunch supporter of Arsenal F.C..
The song is almost regarded as an underground hit for Pink Floyd, because although it was not released as a single in the UK or played live by the band, it remains greatly favoured among hardcore fans. Its title is derived from a football (soccer) slang term for "awesome", which became a cliché among the band's touring party.

Chiding
You say you'd like to see me try
Climbing
You pick the place and I'll choose the time
And I'll climb the hill in my own way
Just wait a while for the right day
And as I rise above the treeline and the clouds
Fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd
Smiling
Merciless, the magistrate turns 'round
Frowning
And who's the fool who wears the crown?
Go down in your own way
And everyday is the right day
And as you rise above the fear lines in his brow
You look down
Hear the sound of the faces in the crowd
(Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart)
(And you'll never walk alone)
(You'll never walk alone)
(Liverpool! Liverpool!)
The lyrics of Pink Floyd's song Fearless address the issue of facing challenges and obstacles in life with determination and hope. The song starts with someone suggesting that the hill is too steep to climb, to which the singer responds by claiming that they will climb it in their own way and at the right time. The following lines, "And as I rise above the treeline and the clouds, I look down hearing the sound of the things you said today," suggest that the singer has surpassed the naysayer's doubts and negative words.
The second verse of the song introduces the idea of facing the judgment and criticism of others fearlessly. The line "fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd, smiling" suggests that the person being judged is not afraid of the negative words and reactions of others. The line "And who's the fool who wears the crown?" implies that the one who judges may not necessarily be above reproach. The last lines "Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart, and you'll never walk alone," suggest that hope and determination are key to overcoming fear and doubt and that we are never truly alone in this journey.
Overall, the lyrics of Fearless encourage listeners to persevere, fight against doubt and criticism, and walk through life with hope and determination.

Regret echoes in my heart,
For all the pain I caused, my part.
A fear that seeps, a fear that grew wild,
I was blinded, my ego high.
But now, I see, knowledge is power, truth set me free,
To face my past, my fears to see.
And with understanding comes relief,
The paranoia fades, for my mind to find peace.
Without fear or hesitation, I try,
Standing high, life's light to ignite.

relative poverty is a bitch, man. can't forget it, but nice to let it dissolve for a while on the regular. gotta remember how lucky we are, otherwise you'll drown in all the shit that goes on. lots of stuff that pulls down so it's a good idea to get skilled in the art of floating up

How is it that a song that came out 52 years ago still sounds so fresh? I’ll never grow tired of this song.
@crono3339
First time I heard this song was in a tiny apartment, snowed in on LSD. Mom had bought it for me on an old vinyl and man I was just awash with love at this sound. Grew up listening to Pink Floyd but didn't realize how much I missed through the years. You are right, half a century old and fresh as new grass.
