Break It
Pink Turns Blue Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I am sick and I am tired of the shit you put me through
And I don't know how I have the strength to fix it
And it seems the world is crumbling and I'm falling on my face
Cause caring got me nowhere I'll try hatred

Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it
Don't know how I can look you in the eyes

And I might have lost my marbles but there is no room for doubt
You're clinically insane, housebound sociopath
And you know that I'm indifferent to everything you say
Cause caring got me nowhere, now it's hatred

Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it
Don't know how I can look you in the eyes

I'm gonna have a breakdown

Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it
Don't know how I can look you in the eyes

Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it

Don't know how to break it
Don't know how to break it

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Pink Turns Blue's song "Break It" express a feeling of exhaustion and frustration towards someone who has been causing the singer pain and discomfort. The singer acknowledges that they are at the end of their rope and they do not know how they will be able to continue tolerating the situation without losing their sanity. They feel as though everything around them is collapsing, and they are losing their grip.

The lyrics suggest that the singer has tried to care about this person and make things work, but it has only led to disappointment and more problems. As a result, they are considering shifting to a more negative emotion, like hatred. The singer states that they no longer know how to "break it," meaning they do not know how to put an end to the situation or to express their feelings in a manner that will produce a positive result.

The song hints at the possibility of a breakdown, which is a manifestation of the singer's internal turmoil. The lyrics are poignant in their rawness and bring into focus the pain and frustration of being caught in a toxic relationship that has no end in sight.

How many sadness you must have to understand this song? How much hatred? THAT is the reason of why this song is awesome...

Fun fact: the song was actually written by Louis Pavlou, the band’s drummer at the time. You can search “Louis Pavlou - Break It” on Youtube to hear his version. But I think I prefer Pink Turns Blue’s version, it has more anger in it.
