Eternal wanderers - burning out
Many comrades - never friends
Signs of burden - of decay - of decay
Eternal law - I can take it - eternal war
Eternal war - I can make it - eternal law
Never give up - your final call
Endless burning - forever running
No plaintive cry - as life goes by - life goes by
Eternal law - I can take it - eternal war
Eternal war - I can make it - eternal law
People watching - from safer distance
Greeting, waving - passing by
They'll watch you dying - no mothers crying
Comrades smiling - with ice cold eyes - ice cold eyes
Eternal law - I can take it - eternal war
Eternal war - I can make it - eternal law
In Pink Turns Blue’s song “Wanderers,” the lyrics tell the story of an eternal wanderer, one who never truly settles down or finds a place to call home. This person is constantly burning out from their experiences and relationships, never forming lasting friendships but instead only finding signs of decay and burden. They continue on, however, enduring the eternal law and war that govern their wandering existence.
The song describes this wanderer as an eternal soldier, tough and straight, never giving up and always running forward, even as life passes them by. They are alone in their journey, with people watching them from a distance, greeting them but ultimately passing them by, watching them die with no mourners or crying mothers left behind. Their comrades are described as having ice cold eyes, indicating a lack of empathy or emotional connection.
Overall, the lyrics of “Wanderers” paint a picture of a solitary, eternal wanderer who is constantly moving forward while facing the challenges and trials of an eternal law and war. The song is a reflection on the loneliness and isolation that can come with a life spent wandering and never truly settling down.
