They state as their influences the likes of Trio Bulgarka, The Cocteau Twins and Kate Bush,. But more than this, they have drawn inspiration from the beauty of Nature, the singing of their inner angels and sometimes from their dark sense of humour. The result is music with a unique sound and a haunting beauty.
Pinknruby attracted the attention of French underground label, Prikosnovenie in 2002 and released their debut album, The Vast Astonishment with them in 2003. Since then, they have released two more critically acclaimed albums, Garden (2005) and Queen Kale (2008) as well as making guest appearances on several compilation cds for labels such as Kalinkaland (Germany) and La Torre (Spain).
Over the last six years, Pinknruby have performed throughout Britain, including several Glastonbury
Festival performances, plus gigs in prestigious venues such as Cargo and The SEOne Club in London,
and The Rain or Shine Club in Manchester. They recently appeared with a full string orchestra
in Kingston Parish Church, London.
The band have also played extensively in Europe, in venues such as Chateau Broceliande (France),
Folkwoods Festival (The Netherlands), Elf Fantasy Fair (The Netherlands) and The Athens Music
Theatre (Greece).

Sanje
Pinknruby Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Pinknruby's song Sanje reflect on the theme of dreams and reality, exploring the idea of a world that exists only in one's imagination. The singer expresses a desire to live in a world that does not yet exist, a place of freedom and liberation that only exists in her dreams. She acknowledges the temporary nature of this dream world, knowing that it disappears as soon as she wakes up. Despite knowing that reality is the only thing that truly exists, the singer values the freedom and creativity that comes with dreaming, and decides to give herself the gift of this liberation.
The lyrics suggest that reality is simply an illusion, and that the only truth lies within the realm of one's imagination. The singer expresses a longing for a world free from societal constraints, and the feeling of being at home within oneself. The lyrics encourage listeners to embrace their dreams, and to find their own path towards freedom.
Sanje is a Slovenian word meaning dreams, and the lyrics are in Slovenian. Pinknruby is a music duo consisting of two artists - Mihaela Repina and Andraz Kajzer. They have released multiple albums in various languages across the globe. Sanje is a track from their album Leaf, released in 2010.
