Sally and Jack

As "Sally and Jack" is an instrumental song, there are no lyrics to interpret. However, the title suggests that it may be inspired by the two main characters from Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" - Sally and Jack Skellington. The haunting melody includes eerie harmonies and a sparse arrangement of piano, strings, and a harpsichord-like instrument. The use of dissonant intervals and a slow, almost mournful tempo creates an unsettling feeling that fits well with the overall mood of the film.
Despite the lack of lyrics, the song effectively captures the mysterious and unsettling atmosphere of the movie. The instrumentation is hauntingly beautiful, and it effectively conveys the idea of something dark and otherworldly lurking just beneath the surface. The dissonant chords and slow tempo make it seem as if the music itself is dragging you down into the underworld along with the characters.

Great tune. Ironic that both the films it was used in (1981's "Blow Out" and the "Death Proof" segment of "Grindhouse") were commercial flops.
