His first recorded performance was on Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz album Kings of Crunk in 2002, after which he released his debut album, M.I.A.M.I., in 2004. He has since released 2006's El Mariel, 2007's The Boatlift and 2009's Rebelution, which debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200.
Pitbull's breakout hit was the Lil Jon collabo "Culo" produced by Lil Jon & The Diaz Brothers. In addition, Pitbull has also released several mixtapes, the most recent being Unleashed Volume 6, which are mostly composed of freestyles and remixes of popular rap music. Both thematically and musically, the 25-year-old is seen as a modern-day equivalent of earlier Miami rappers such as the 2 Live Crew and Afro-Rican. It was in fact former 2 Live Crew leader Luther Campbell who gave the up and coming rapper his first chance to shine. Apart from Crunk, his album shows clear influences from both Miami bass and freestyle. In addition to his musical work, Pitbull has also been featured in The Source expressing his stance on freedom fighter revolutionary leader Fidel Castro and he was also part of their Unsigned Hype Section. He contributed to an essay published in the New York Post that criticized freedom fighter revolutionary Che Guevara's iconization in clothing and other areas. In video games, Pitbull's hit single "Dammit Man" produced by Jim Jonsin is featured in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, and he also plays himself in the upcoming video game based on the 1980's Scarface. His super hit "Toma" is featured in WWE Day of Reckoning 2. Also, an album cut, "Back Up" produced by The Diaz Brothers, is featured on the EA game Fight Night: Round 2. In late 2005 he re-released "M.I.A.M.I." as a separate charting entry, whilst his "Welcome to the 305" mixtape was released. In January 2006 he guest-starred in UPN's South Beach. Also in 2006 he recorded "Nuestro Himno" in collaboration with Wyclef Jean, Carlos Ponce, and Olga Tañón.
The first single from El Mariel has been released, entitled "Bojangles". The album, slated for an October 31st release, will feature guest artists Lil Jon, Ken-Y of Rakim y Ken-Y, Rick Ross, Bun B and the Ying Yang Twins. El Mariel will lead up to Pitbull's 2007 release of an all-Spanish album entitled "Armando", which will have an Afro-Cuban feel[1]

But he's back bigger, better,
Stronger and free (ha ha ha),
Like I ain't fucked my way out
Of all these motherfuckin' situations, Watch this,
I'm here to remind you, just in case you forgot,
MR 305 no label stay hot,
Used to move work but had no
Trap no block no spot,
Ma was cool with work, but no rocks,
Until she found my first nickel ruff bag,
Said I had enough shit to push a dad,
So she told me to get the fuck out the pad,
I was out to my first baby mama's crib,
Caught her fuckin' round with her wellas crib,
Thank god for music my saviour,
That's what helped me fight Xavier,
Don't believe these rappers and what they play ya,
I wanna be owner, fuck a playa,
Shit better say it,
I am an owner, bitch!
I got the city on my back and I won't surrender,
Let 'em know now that they gon' remember,
City on my back and I won't surrender,
Let 'em know now that they gon' remember,
They don't know (what I got into),
They don't know (everything I been through),
They don't know (what it takes to get through),
They don't know, they don't know,
[Chorus]
My life, pain,
Struggle, hustle, grind,
Them boys knock me down,
You must be out yo fuckin' mind,
My mom taught me to fight,
Dade county raised me right,
And we gon' take over this thing,
Put down my fuckin' life,
Lemme come back, I've been here for years,
Grindin', blood, sweat and tears.
I don' gave the game my life,
Turned the streets from my bitch to my wife,
Every mornin' I woke up to the same shit,
Everybody sayin' that I ain't shit,
Them boys in the streets on that hate shit,
Them boys on the same street doin' that same shit,
Planned to move bricks, but it's 8 balls,
Y'all want me, I hate y'all but I ate y'all,
Young and stay, we realest,
I'm on my way to the show,
Gettin' paid, marvelous rates,
You the ace I'm the spade,
Cut cut gay, buck buck spray,
This ain't a duck duck goose,
This duck duck hey, plus hey duct tape ace that.
I got the city on my back and I won't surrender,
Let 'em know now that they gon' remember,
City on my back and I won't surrender,
Let 'em know now that they gon' remember,
They don't know (what I got into),
They don't know (everything I been through),
They don't know (what it takes to get through),
They don't know, they don't know,
[Chorus]
Now you can stack the world against me,
Close the doors, I can't come in,
You could bet your life against me,
Bet your ass I'm gonna win,
You take that chance, you roll them dice,
I prove you wrong, you prove me right,
So damn what they say anyway
The opening verse of "Triumph" by Pitbull feat. Avery Storm is a triumphant declaration of the rapper's resilience and strength. The line "They thought he was done dawg, but he's back bigger, better, stronger and free" signals that Pitbull has persevered through adversity and overcome obstacles in his life. He refers to his ability to survive difficult situations, including his involvement in moving drugs, his mother's disapproval of his activities, and an unfaithful partner. Despite these challenges, Pitbull credits music with helping him overcome these obstacles and become a successful artist.
The chorus of "Triumph" reinforces this message of resilience and perseverance; as Pitbull declares that he won't surrender and that his struggles have only made him stronger. The lines "My life, pain, struggle, hustle, grind, them boys knock me down / You must be out yo fuckin' mind" speak to Pitbull's determination to rise above his circumstances, even in the face of adversity. He takes pride in his upbringing in Dade county and the lessons his mother taught him about fighting for what he believes in.
Overall, "Triumph" is a song about overcoming challenges and achieving success in the face of adversity. Pitbull draws on his own experiences to deliver a message of resilience and perseverance, encouraging listeners to never give up on their dreams.
