The album 'Place Vendome' saw issue through Frontiers in Europe during October 2005, with international licensing going out to Avalon Marquee in Japan, Hellion Records in Brazil, Melodicpia in South Korea, Rock Empire in Taiwan and Irond Records in Russia. Following release, Kiske, who had earlier vowed never to record Hard Rock or Heavy Metal again, issued a statement claiming that the Place Vendome material he had originally sang on was AOR and that Dennis Ward had later added more substantial guitars

All the things I've come to know
Thank God it's over
With a cool look in my eyes
Holding the pace, I've got to stride
And try to keep my sanity
When I
Cross the line
This is the place; this is life I want to know
All on my own,
So mighty yet so simple as the river flow
And when I'm falling from grace,
This is the dream; this is the faith I must believe
I've chosen to be,
To be the one to criticize the best of me
Just another lesson learned
Though the wounds will heal in time
The pain doesn't stop, it just subsides
It's never ending
All the thoughts rage through my head
Things that I've done and things I've said
There'll be no starting over
Oh, it's time for letting go
When I
Cross the line
This is the place; this is life I want to know
All on my own,
So mighty yet so simple as the river flow
And when I'm falling from grace,
This is the dream; this is the faith I must believe
I've chosen to be,
To be the one to criticize the best of me
And there's still so much to learn,
But I'm taking my time
And I'm crying out for number one
After all the damage has been done
Oh, all I want is satisfaction
Walk the path without distraction
To live this life so divine,
Cross the line
The lyrics of "Cross The Line" by Place Vendome reflect a sense of self-reflection and the need for growth. The singer in the song looks back on past experiences - some positive and some negative - and acknowledges the pain that still lingers, but also recognizes the importance of letting go and moving forward. The phrase "thank God it's over" suggests a sense of relief, perhaps from a particularly difficult period in the singer's life.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the singer's desire to find their own path in life, without the distractions or expectations of others. The imagery of the river flow being both "mighty yet so simple" reflects the singer's desire for freedom and simplicity. The line "I've chosen to be, to be the one to criticize the best of me" suggests a determination to improve oneself, even if it means being self-critical.
The final verse acknowledges that there is still much to learn, but the singer is committed to taking the time to grow and improve. The line "all I want is satisfaction" suggests that the ultimate goal is not to please others or meet their expectations, but to find personal fulfillment and happiness.
Overall, the lyrics of "Cross The Line" convey a message of self-determination, growth, and acceptance of past mistakes and pain.

Too much of epicness in one song. Kiske for the win!

maybe that's why they are so good because it's plain. There are no excesses and extended solos.....I think we all need to have bands like this to bring us back to the concept of how everything started or how it should be when it's PLAIN.

Again a killer song by Kiske & Co. Having been following his career since Helloween gigs in 1987 and 1988 I can only wonder how come he gets even better as time goes by.
