Cigarrito
Platero y tú Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In "Cigarrito," Platero y tú invites the listener to rest for a moment and think about the years that have passed. During the span of a cigarette - a symbol of taking a break and reflecting - the singer remembers parts of their life story that they keep in the drawer of their memories. The pages of an unfinished book that are behind them now but have shaped who they are. The lyrics recommend singing with conviction and certainty, being aware of what one says, and accepting that these words have consequences.
The song calls attention to the importance of stopping to take inventory of one's life, of acknowledging the scars and living life deliberately. At the same time, it invites the listener to enjoy the simple pleasures of life - the magic of a rabbit pulled out of a hat, the genuine love two people share, and the beat of a song that makes them touch more intensely.
The lyrics suggest a mix of nostalgia, contemplation, and living life with an open heart. The song addresses the need to stop and take stock while still enjoying life's small moments, and it does so with a compelling beat that invites listeners to dance and sing along.

¿Alguien en 2021? ¿2022? ¿2023?
