Daniel Hunter began creating music in his garage, but it was not until he discovered music programming in music theory class at Aledo High School he began to create electronic-based music.
After rapidly gaining popularity on Myspace, Hunter signed with Island/Stolen Transmission midway through his senior year of high school. Hunter released an EP entitled The Frequency EP on April 27, 2007, which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Electronic chart and No. 27 on the Heatseekers chart. A full-length album entitled Texas was released March 18, 2008 debuting at No. 157 on the Billboard 200. In support of the album, he toured nationally with American rock bands Fall Out Boy, Secondhand Serenade, Yellowcard, The Spill Canvas, Hellogoodbye and Making April.
Hunter left Island Records in late June 2008 after a two-year run. He described his affiliation with the company as a "nightmare" in his Myspace blog. Shortly after, on June 27, 2008, Hunter announced in his Myspace blog he had demoed a new EP entitled The Organic/Synthetic along with another unnamed EP; its songs were eventually released on his 2010 releases, Ancient Electrons and Besides, Nothing (B-Sides and Rarities, 2003–2009).
On July 27, 2009, Hunter announced he would be simultaneously releasing a full-length album with new songs and a B-Sides album featuring songs from 2003–2009. Some of the songs had been posted on the Internet on different file-sharing sites, or performed live; others were songs that did not make it onto The Frequency EP or Texas, and some were PlayRadioPlay! 'classics' in their original form.
On September 17, 2009 it was announced the band's name would be changed to Analog Rebellion. On October 13, 2009 Hunter confirmed he would be releasing a new full-length album called Ancient Electrons under the new name.

When I talk to you alone you'll think
That guy he's the pick of the crop
And when you think about me your heart will stop
So check the big times that got the heart of a robot
Like the big guys and the bodybuildin' muscle men
And I can see why you'd pick them over me
?'cause I'm not 18, yeah
In 4 months I'll be one year away
But that's far too long to wait, I'm afraid
So go to the dirt bike track, pick you out a man
They might be ridin? all the time
But atleast they have a career plan
So check the big times that got the heart of a robot
Like the big guys and the bodybuildin' muscle men
And I can see why you'd pick them over me
They all got big truck, big subs and I'm not 18
?'cause I'm not 18
In 4 months you'll be in college far away
And that's all I have to say
You'll be in college far away
And that's all I have to say
So check the big times that got the heart of a robot
Like the big guys and the bodybuildin' muscle men
And I can see why you'd pick them over me
They all got big truck, big subs and I'm not 18
?'cause I'm not 18, yeah, ?'cause I'm not 18, ?'cause I'm not 18, yeah oh
“At This Particular Moment In Time” by PlayRadioPlay! is a melancholic and introspective song about feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, and lost opportunities in love. The song was released in 2007 as part of the album “Texas”. The lyrics depict a young man who is in love with someone he considers to be out of his league both physically and socially. He feels that he can never compete with the “big guys” who have all the attributes that the love interest may desire, such as trucks, muscles, and confidence. The lyrics also suggest that the singer is not yet 18 years old and therefore unable to meet the standards of adult masculinity that society seems to celebrate. The song is, therefore, a lament for unfulfilled romantic possibilities.
The phrase “At This Particular Moment In Time” can be seen as a self-aware reference to the song's theme. The singer is acutely aware that his love interest's attention is fleeting and dependent on the current moment. He realizes that his romantic aspirations are limited by his age, his lack of material possessions, and the social standards that dictate his self-worth. Despite his insecurities, the singer is not bitter or resentful, instead, he resigns himself to the reality of the situation. The final lines of the song - “In 4 months you'll be in college far away/And that's all I have to say” - are an acceptance that his love will not be reciprocated, and the moment has passed.
